As the shroud is pulled back to reveal Saddam Hussein's face an unidentified man says "Quickly, quickly".
A third man says: "I am coming. I am coming."
The second man says: "Abu Ali, Abu Ali: You take care of this. Habib! Habib!"
The third man says: "One minute. Just one minute."
The first man shouts: "My dear, my dear. By God..."
Now that's just sick! Bloody perverts!

DD - please don't post the video on here. The first one was in bad enough taste.

I think it is extremely sad.

I also think that he showed much more dignity and courage than the cowards who were taunting him.

Bad man he was, without a doubt, but those people at his execution were no better than him.

The US should have seen that this kind of situation did not occur.

    I am disgusted with them.

And why would those idiots let their nine and ten year old children see that!

I disagree. It's all on the Internet if you want to spend time searching for it. Why not make it easy for us, DD?

    Agreed.

But they never had the power to kill thousands of people, so they enjoyed their opportunity to be involved in the death of just one.

With who? The US or the people taunting Saddam?

They probably see worse on TV or in the streets. So no big deal.

As much of a bastard as Saddam was, there is something very wrong about one country going in to another, grabbing the head of that state, facilitating a shoddy trial and then his/her execution.

At the very least, he should have been brought to The Haig.

    The one what, from Texas?

Some people want the US out, some want them in. Do you think they should've taken charge of the execution? Have an embassador there tut-tutting in the back, muttering "Please be quiet, you excitable Iraqis"?

This was those Iraqis' last chance to get their own back on that murdering SOB after decades of oppression. Can you imagine what the atmosphere must've been like in there? Yes, Saddam was more dignified than his executioners - he was very dignified, in fact - but you can't really blame them for wanting to have a go at him.

I really wanted Saddam to get a thorough trial so the Iraqi people could learn to trust the system to adminster justice rather than the people taking it in their own hands in a passionate manner. Unfortunately, it wasn't done. Saddam and his lawyers disrupted the procedings. Three of his lawyers were murdered. The brother-in-law of one of the judges was murdered.

Sending Saddam to The Hague would have been unsatisfactory to Iraqis. It would have been seen as another example of the West taking charge and making the locals feel as if they are inept. It was hoped that putting him on trial at home would give the people a sense of participation in the new system and would give the people a sense of faith in their new government. Besides, there's a good chance he would have cheated justice by dying in his sleep like Milosevic did. Five years of a never ending trial and Milos dies in his sleep from old age. Everyone's hands are clean because Nature flushed the toilet. The Nuremburg trials on the other hand took less than a year and were thorough enough.

It makes you wonder how much they sedated him. Maybe they didn't, but he did look a little too mellow for someone who was about to die.

But that's the point. The locals are inept, as has been shown to the whole world now.

Well it seems the videos and pictures are all fake, I am quite shocked that it was really the barbaric Americans that hanged Saddam.
