For some men it is a fantasy, and some women. Not me.

But, if I had to drink my own pee to survive - I would do it.

Another thing, if it is a really hot day you don't pee a great deal (unless you drink copious amounts of water) so your pee that you drink will be a bit concentrated.

If it meant that you had to live in the Sahara or wherever as you dragged yourself along to the next mirage - I'd do it. What does Bear whatsishname do?

    Name a new "Cocktail"?

It's when you think about the names of cocktails -

    Sex on the Beach
    Orgasm
Up against the wall in Wigan
    Erotica in Edinburgh

etc. I am sure that certain personal drips of watery like things could be collected, and put into plastic bags for personal consumption if, if ever, being in a situation whereby they may be needed.

So, carry round those wee plastic bags with you all the time. You never know when you will need them. Be free to spit too.

Some of the water drunk in London is recycled sewage.
    London On Tap
Of the 150 litres of water each person uses each day, only a very small proportion is for drinking (around 2 litres

See, All those peeps in London are still alive. Drinking, washing etc. with the water.

Now, compare London and their water with Africa? Most countries in Africa would love to have the water that London has. Jeez, for them the London water is the cleanest they will ever see in their lives.

My father tried and tried and tried through all his professional life working for the WHO and UN and World Bank to try to bring fresh water to African Countries.

He did help, in a small way. But I saw him cry sometimes because he couldn't do enough. He must have seen young babies dying because they had no water.

Africa still needs water - what my father did is just a drop in the ocean. And, until he died 10 years ago he was still so interested in his work there.

    True.
But the water down there turns Londoners into Cockerny winkers.

Sorry, i get really upset about this. It's sort of a black hole.

That the fact that what my dad did in Africa is zilch. Shit, he lived in Uganda from 54 till 66 Sent his wife home, with me - 3 years old.

And followed us. Perhaps some of you old African hands can help me here? I would like to write a book.

That would probably be best in another thread, patsycat...
I would not say that your father's efforts were 'zilch'...
Rather, he sounds like he was an exceptional man...trying to make a difference...very few people are as selfless...magnanimous...
It is the journey that is important...

Why not start a thread in his honour?

I'm sure your thinking of Chang domestic.....which deserves any criticism coming it's way, as it's far from anything resembling beer.

Have you seen the colour of the water up north? Straight from the peat moors, so dark brown water mixed with sheep piss.

In Scotland, my ex Swiss husband, wouldn't take a bath because the water was brown. I found it to be the softest water in the world and would wallow for hours!!! And came out feeling goooooood!!!

Don't think so, not here. He has been appreciated elsewhere. And us, as his family know his work.

Let's just let him rest in peace now. He knew what had to be done, and hopefully will be done in the next few decades.

    Thanks. I miss the bugger!!

I remember at their 50th wedding anniversary him saying that "I met that woman when she was 16 and fell in love, now i love her even more than then, she has been there and given me three beautiful children"

He died two weeks before their 56th wedding anniversary.

See, it can happen. True love.
