Normal rice is about 18 baht a kilo (unpolished), but she doesn't know about the sticky rice.
I know its not really relevant but just to show the contrast last week I bought the wife in the Uk
4 kilos of easy cook basic rice £4 or if you like 46bht per kilo
2 kilos of glutinous rice £4 or vice verca 92bht per kilo

I have been told that what I lugged back wasn't from the entire farm, as the normal rice had already been done. I think the landowners take between 25 & 40% of the harvest. I'll try to get proper figures at some point.Quote:
