Fabulous view. Wish I could afford the same luxury mate.
I've circled the Ibis Riverside in your pic below, and my pic was taken from that location back in january.

And finally, of course, a view taken from the BTS looking back across the river towards Saphan Taksin

The Ibis hotel is a great deal and in a prime location. Have stayed here a few times now. Easy walk if not packing big bags. Jump the boat across the river and leg it.
Easy to walk there if travelling solo and light-ish. And there are sporadic free shuttles to the bts from there as well.
The old Pepsi Pier, now just a pier. Was 2 Baht when I first used it in the dark ages. Now it's just 4. I'd imagine it was about 50 satang in your old days.
Years ago I used to stay at a friends on soi 14 so was a regular.
For me, it was logistically easier to get out at Taksin BTS and use this. That way you don't need to be crossing Charoen Nakhon Road, risking death.

I love the river area so much to see.

I was surprised to see people living in this place. Not the wedding couple.
Such a cool old building same there just letting it rot.

It was some kind of Hi-So photo shoot.
The almost deserted pool at Thammasat Uni today. Got in 30 lengths before grabbing something sweet tasting and hot afterwards. Pancakes were pretty good too, albiet a bit small.

I've not seen every pool in the World, but this is the first time I've seen the lane ropes 'across' the Pool and not 'along' the pool https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2017/10/102.gif
Good thing too. It's an Olympic sized pool, 50m length. Slightly too long for swimming a length comfortably. I am fit, but I'm not a masochist
Ok so I did 30 widths.

Luckily there aren't many DJ pics about with me looking like a bigger wanker/tosser, although I was asked to pose like a 'superstar dj'.. They snapped about 300 pics but chose the worst one.
64k 5 nights a week including the international buffet at 8pm each day upstairs at the Novotel. At 11pm they fed you off the regular menu too.
