On'ya Simon.
She doesn't look too homeless though.
Maybe the handlers lease her by the hour.
What a shitty business.
Anyone remember that guy that would dress up in rags and drag himself along the footpath as if his legs were mutilated and didn't work, by Central World around 10 years ago?
Koonts still probably doing it, then driving home in his Benz after paying his dragging tax to the local rozzers. :)
He apparently had a Benz parked up soi 7 and was seen at the racecourse betting his beggings
Fookin' Dillinger the crafty koont.
There's no point in them staying open anyway....

Pandan Island sunset.
:smileylaughing:
I never knew you partook in that sort, tc.
Sweet shot.. nice of you, Simon.
When I was in Phuket last, I was shocked by the amount of small children coming up to sell me things (flowers, knick knacks), while I was sitting in a roadside restaurant or bar. It is certainly sad to see children make a living like this and basically have to give the money to pimp's waiting on the corner.
I just noticed her gold earings in the photo LoLQuote:

Regardless, it must be pretty fcuking boring sitting on a dirty pavement all day with nothing to play with, and only the sight of overweight Arab women shuffling past to keep you entertained.
There are some good places and organizations that help children get educated and skilled in order to stay off the streets. One in particular I am involved with.
PHBGTU | Index |
Yes, I know about PHBGTU (I lived in Phuket for many years).
Now that I live in Myanmar, there are many deserving kids who need a basic education, which is where my own charity work comes in. I gave up offering to work for the big charities, I'm neither black, lesbian, young or disabled, which means that I'm unlikely to get to any job interview...
So I started doing hands-on, educational charity work myself, which results in a lot more value-for-money than what the big charities achieve. I'm actually quite surprised at what I have achieved last year with only a few hundred $.

That doll was likely taken from her then taken home by some cop who handed it to their daughter.

Temple building Pak Thale.
This 1,000 times and more. I got involved because I was enjoying riding my dirt-bike through the Shan hills at the weekend, then just turning round at my destination and riding back again. So to 'justify' these trips, I started doing something at the destination, and that doing something was to donate school books to an orphanage.Quote:
The problem with these larger charities is most of the money goes on administration costs etc etc
The more that I did this, the more I understood better the exact educational needs of the kids, which meant that I could target my expenditure on the right sort of school supplies for each group of kids, rather than 'chucking mud at the wall and hoping some would stick'.
Then I found out about another orphanage, then another, then another...... which was a good reason to ride my dirt-bike into other remote areas.
Bugger, I need to add a photo:

This is high above Inle Lake - there is great off-road riding in that region (that plastic box is full of school books for an orphanage in Kalaw...)

^ Such the romantic !
I offered, early on in the relationship, to buy my partners Mum some flowers.
Are you mad? Can't eat flowers. Buy something practical.
So it was 5 liters of cheap cooking oil, bum rags (toilet paper) and condensed milk and ...

must be the ship brand.
^^ Sentimentality in the land of practicality is often viewed as stupidity.
I feel emotionally uplifted then the beer is placed in the fridge ... :)
BTW ... I'll pop round to sort him 'the savage' out .

Good stuff! I agree, that you have to be careful with which charity you are giving to and where the money is actually going. As for me, I am heavily involved with the two charities I work with and I know that the money I give goes toward children’s educational fees and all things educational. I’ve been to both and know the owners and the kids. :)
I braved the snow and it is a wicked day! Pretty though.. feel like I’m in Canada!
