It means that your alcohol system is getting to much blood in it and you are heading for the DT's which can kill you and your system is low on depressants, so get up and drink a 1/2 bottle of good wine, not that cheap shit but good stuff, like at least $1.05 a quart port or Muscatel and then pass out again for 2 or 3 hours.

Be honest about it, Rob. It was a drunken sex tour. A chance to have sex with prostitutes and drink beer in the sun. Let's not kid ourselves it was ever meant to be anything else.
Sounds like a bloody great holiday to me then....

People that drink heavily often say the get these, night sweats.

    What does this mean?

Why does heavy drinking involve "night sweating?" I don't recall myself doing this.

No idea, but the few alcoholics I've met seemed to sweat profusely constantly....it was rather nasty. That and the constant stale smell of beer about their person and emanating from their mouths kept interaction to a minimum.

Rather amazing that you can actually have sex after being on the booze 24 hours a day.

I thought that booze brought on a bit of a droopy willy sindrome.

But, with all those viagra things out there.

She must have had a whale of a time....

    I don't think I've ever experienced them.

But seriously, why does the body "sweat" because of booze?

Is it b/c the liver is shutting down or as you say, the "blood" is over-loaded.

    Seriously, please explain.

Withdrawal symptoms Milk, quite normal, lots of alkies get sweating and the shakes don't ask me what exactly in the body does that but it's a fact with many. Myself included after longer time heavy drinking, many many years since last time I've done that thankfully, now I only do one night at the time and that is enough takes me 2 days to get back to normal getting oldish I suppose

Night sweats in men is a subject that is receiving increasing attention in the medical community. If you sweat at night, should you be concerned?
Probably not. Medical experts are becoming increasingly convinced that men experience andropause the same way women experience menopause. Just as women experience hot flushes and night sweats because of the fluctuations in their hormone levels, so men also experience night sweats as their bodies adjust their levels of testosterone and other male hormones. The problem resolves itself over time, just as it does for women.

If you are a man in your late forties or older and you find yourself sweating increasingly at night, simply use lighter pajamas and bed linens and/or open a window to cool off. The problem should resolve itself over time.

In addition, it would be a good idea to limit your caffeine intake and your alcohol consumption as both of these can affect how much you sweat, particularly at night. Instead, take a cool shower and drink some water before you turn in for the night. But don’t drink too much water or you will end up getting up at night anyway.
However, there may be cases when night sweating in men can indicate a more severe medical problem. If you sweat so much that you have to change your bedding or your pajamas during the night, you should see a doctor to rule out another potential problem.
For example, night sweating in men can be a sign of tuberculosis, cancer, diabetes or HIV. Your doctor will probably request a battery of tests to rule out these serious problems. It can also be a sign of sleep apnea, a condition in which you temporarily stop breathing while you sleep. Night sweating is one of your body’s defenses in such a case.
While you await the results of the testing your doctor will require, try not to worry. Night sweats in men can also be an indication of a more benign problem. For example, if you are worried about something or are taking a new medication, you may find yourself sweating more, particularly at night. Your body may also be fighting off a minor infection, such as the flu and your night sweating will resolve as your body recovers.
Night sweating in men can be a sign of a more serious problem or it may be simply a sign of the ageing process. If you are concerned, do not hesitate to consult a doctor. The sooner you do, the better you will sleep.

It means your kidneys are working overtime. Your skin is the biggest "kidney" you have and are just helping out doing the cleaning.

    I think.
    Well I don't know really

Booze is a bad drug man. I've done it all man but that shit can take control of your soul. If I had to take something 24/7 heroin would be gentle and safe compared to beer or whiskey.

    Thanks for the responses, folks.

Fortunately, I've never had the shakes. I don't recall the sweats, but have heard about it.

    I'm just a beer drinker, but I know, I know.....it still booze.

Usually if you are smashed then there is little problems with sweating, but if you are not as drunk as usual you will sweat like a pig, get very little real rest and get up really feeling like shit.
When I was a drunk and would try to cut back I would wake during the night and have to dry off with a towel, be puddles of sweat standing on me and actually running off and the bed be soaked.
I have not had night sweats since I came off my last drunk which started with 2 cans of Near Beer after a 2 months sobriety and lasted 2 fucking years 24/7 and ended with 3 days knocked out on drugs to keep me from dying of withdrawls..
    Hopefully will not happen again.

But the booze fucks up your nervous system so bad that nerves are mis firing and all sorts of shit is going on in your system, therefore DT's and it takes a few months to get everything running smoothly again, it does not stop overnight.
If you happen to contact wet brain then you will always have that.

Drinking fucks up your nervous system big time. I used to enjoy a drink most nights for many years. Now I drink maybe once every 7 - 10 days and feel 100% better than I did when drinking heavily. When you start drinking too much, you can easily forget what it feels like to feel physically and mentally brilliant.

No way man, us Aussie men know that decent women hate sex and get it over with as quickly as possible.
