A website became very popular for being against GWB.

It is called "smirkingchimp" or "the smirkingchimp."

It's probably a bit slower now.

    I'm checking it out now.

I voted for Obama, but in some ways I do miss the smirking chimp Bush. At least he was upfront and in our faces with his disastrous policies. Obama's progressive image covers up the fact that he's surrounding himself with the same Washington insiders (Rahm Emmanuel, Timothy Geithner, etc..) who helped to create America's current financial and foreign policy debacles. The Obama administration's Israel-first foreign policy and strong ties to Wall Street are unsettling.

Here are a few excerpts from a recent essay by Paul Craig Roberts, former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Ronald Reagan:

"To whose agenda is President Obama being hitched? Writing in the English language version of the Swiss newspaper Zeit-Fragen, Stephen J. Sniegoski reports that leading figures of the neocon conspiracy are ecstatic over Obama's appointments. They don't see any difference between Obama and Bush-Cheney.

"Not only are Obama's appointments moving him into an expanded war in Afghanistan, but the powerful Israel lobby is pushing Obama toward a war with Iran.

"The unreality in which the U.S. government operates is beyond belief. A bankrupt government that cannot pay its bills without printing money is rushing headlong into wars in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran.

"The world has never seen such total mindlessness. Napoleon's and Hitler's marches into Russia were rational acts compared to the mindless idiocy of the United States government."

milk, to suggest a bullet for any such person is criminal in itself. even with your previous commentary reducing anything that you had to say as worthless, I do believe that with the above suggestion, you have crossed the line. even you, with your socialist views should be ashamed of yourself with your making this nasty suggestion.

^^ Where have you been for the 8 years???

Regardless of whether anyone here believes Bush did a good job or not, the overwhelming perception, dare I say consensus, around the world is that he is / was a fvcking idiot... Dispute that...

Unfortunately Bush was smarter man than most of the world... he defied odds and was elected twice to the most important position in the world.

By the looks of it BO isn't looking much brighter.

The topic is not the current administration or their efforts to right the ship...

BM: The ONLY reason that GWB was re-elected is that the libbies couldn't muster a candidate any stronger than Scarey Kerry...

TP: And just how would you propose that we get the world's economy back on track??? Or do you propose that we just let capitalism follow the path of the Albatross into extinction...

I for one am soooo sick & tired of partisan politics that I could vommit... The US, no the entire world, is in dire straits due to US economic policies and lack of oversight for the last decade... Doesn't matter who the sitting president was... We're all in deep shit and all you can do is play the red & blue game... Pathetic...

Pretty much the same. Both born of the establishment, both pretend not to project themselves in this manner, both are akin to generations of Presidents before them and future ones aw well. Let's say...same same but different.

I can even agree with you here, Boony. Less, I would not refer it as 'Socialism' - but just plain old government control and intervention {semantics only}. Interlocked with corporations and financial intitutions....some might refer that as to Fascism, with a big F. But that's been SOP for America and many parts of the world for some time. We {as good citizens worldwide} allow the respective governments to be 'in business'. Whereas, I'm of the ideals that government should not exist to be in business...but instead mind it's own. If we shout about the {bullshit} idea of a 'free and open market', then allow the market to fix it's own ills. In time the markets will right themselves...or not. Live and die by the sword. No government support or maintenance. This is not Socialism...but something else.

For me, early indications are that Obama is no better than Bush and has no idea how to control the main issues at hand which recession and systemic failure of the financial system. Geithner also seems a clueless as Paulson so Bush knockers might need to wind their necks in a bit

NO, and it was voted in without any congressman having sufficient time to read the 1400 page final draft so there could be just about anything in there.

    The reason?

Pelosi had to go and see the pope.

Indeed. This is a common character trait in that part of the world. Universal, it is.
