no worries.
Couple of projects, study, cleaning. Earful from landlady as I told her I couldn't look after one of her dogs when they went on a week vakay. Love the dog but she has eaten my shoes and a financial calculator ($40), shredded several packs of smokes, library book ($9), scratched and chewed my glasses, eaten pens and left ink on the carpet, and almost destroyed an old address book. Told the huz and he just laughed every time. So, put my foot down after I was dog-sitting so they could go see Neil Diamond. Yip yip. She ate a library DVD of the Red Shoes. Cost me $67. Told her husband that, too. Any compensation? No. So, I said "I cannot look after that dog." Last time they vakayed for two weeks (another dog that died and the sweet one they still have) they gave me $50 for dog-sitting. Bladdy h*ll, just say thanks instead of insulting me ($50-$60 a day for kennel fees here). They have now left and got a flip friend to come over and take care of both dogs, who have been barking (penned in their kennels) for five hours. You pay either way, I guess.
All in all, an average day in Canada.

Been to work - healthy number of orders - hurray!!!
Going to see West Side Story at the Theatre tonight - hurray!!
Stuck some more needles into temple dogs & then went to Tesco. A-List celebs eat your hearts out. You can't buy that sort of excitement...

^ Bil is lost at the mo. Nephew adds continuity. When Bil's cash runs dry, the sh*t will hit the fan. Nephew has a good job but wants to stay at home for the Mom atmo and the dog. Won't last long and better to get him on his own again (he moved back to be with Sis when she was sick).

Agreed. I presume he didn't work locally before his mum became ill? Maybe better he is helped to understand that he'd be better off there with his mates than moping around soured memories and the step-dad? It's tricky...Originally Posted by Jet Gorgon
Woke up and had my porridge and cup of tea and prepared the carrot juice for the wife.
Rode to the car body shop to check the repair on my new Jazz then on to the gym for a chest, arm and stomach work out.
Back home for lunch then messing about the internet to watch my stocks plunging.
Later rode up to feed the homeless dogs then back to playing on the internet and skyped a mate in the U.K. who was also complaining at his losses.
Pretty normal day really.

Went to Blackburn and out to lunch - Fish and Chips - with Bil and Sil. Then called in an Asian (Indian/Pakistani) supermarket and bought, pickled chillies, olives, halva, lentils, herbs and spices...and etc......
Rolled out of bed at 8am, started to have a cup of coffee, thought fuck it and went back to bed and had weird semi-caffeinated dreams until 11ish or so.
Shower, etc, too bright outside to work the garden but did so anyway. Mixed some fungicide that will probably leave me sterile, tedious spraying of trees, weeding of the perimeter by the rice paddies where I encountered a pit viper last week, a few loads of laundry and cooked up some spag bol.
3ish. 20km on the bike. Biked around some ruins and through a tour group who came equipped with matching helmets and flash mountain bikes. Had a feeling like I was ruining their show. 'Here the locals leave garlands at the base of the ... ' while I slackadaisically pedal by, wondering if I should pick up some grilled chicken before I head back.
5-7pm, tool around on the net. Wash some dishes, sweep the floor, run the towels through the washer again, take out the trash. Well, somebody's got to do it.
7-8pm, shower again and eat dinner at the moo baan restaurant, which is strangely empty. Staff are smiley and sweet and bungle my order. I eat it without complaint while flipping through an old copy of Der Spiegel.
8pm-11pm. Who knows, sip scotch while laughing and catching up with two exes who spontaneously phone within minutes of each other. Wish both well and just about manage to get off the phone before I say something foolish.
11pm - now. Answer emails, read the news, lurk around on a couple forums.
John - Charmed by your finding a pit viper by the rice paddies.
And to think...I am excited to find toads in my garden, in what I laughingly call a rockery.
I've been putting out garbage too.....grumbling inwardly because we have to separate it out into little tichy bins. The bin for plastics is too big...because I don't buy much in plastic containers. The beer cans and glass bottles bin is too small.......because I have two sons....with friends.....who don't take their beer containers home. The bin men think I'm a very heavy drinker because the can bin is always overflowing......
i have the best bin in the street , and i take offense when someone elsewhere 'betters' my effort!
