White gold with rows of itty bitty diamonds can be had for about 350. I was just going to give it to her must try and think of some way of making it memorable becuase our wedding which wont be for a few years will cost aboout 100 quid with no guests except ourselves

Asian women get obsessed with marriage as they reach 25. My mrs is 24... Apparently East Asian men wont look at a bride over 25.
They champion falsehood, support the butcher against the victim, the oppressor against the innocent child. May God mete them the punishment they deserve

Hell, I used to use a band off of a cigar when Grandpa or Dad would smoke one, I would give that to some little split tail about my age, 5 or 6 or so, and sometimes we played around in the hay in the barn for awhile,, wonder what the females will let you do if they think you gonna marry em.

Its rather odd. They aren't allowed out of the house unitl they are 23 so their time for bagging a hubby is short.

engagement / marriage # 1 I had a lovely diamond solitaire, princess cut, set in white gold, with a matching wedding band. The most tasteful and elegant piece of jewellery you can imagine

for my second I want a black pearl, no more good taste crap - I am having a wild wicked tacky pirate romance of a ring, and I am having an ornate silver wedding band that clashes with it - they say pearls are for tears and I say, damn right... tears of joy

get what you want Mad Dog - hold on, fuck that - get what she wants

25 -- in Japan, they refer to it as the same as a Christmas cake; no good after that. 555
I would check with some of the silversmiths who do their own designs. Make it original, but try to wrangle some ideas from her. Best to you, MD.

How do you say gold in Thai? white gold and a layer of diamond dust would be nice. I wont buy a ring for myself i find them difficult to wear.

Consider getting an engagement ring set with sapphire instead of absurdly overpriced tiny diamonds.
You'll get a lot more bang for your buck (sapphires are cheap in Thailand), a nicer looking ring- hell you can easily have the stone surrounded with diamantes anyway, no one can tell the difference- and your money will not be going to subsidise an anticompetitive, immoral cartel.

Firstly, I do think that the lady should have a say in the look of the ring, she's the one that will hopefully be wearing it for the rest of her life.

Secondly, if it were me, there are a lot of less expensive but stunning stones that would look really good in a modern setting (that sounds like it might be where you're going with the silver idea - but white gold is nicer, doesn't tarnish, either!). Try black star sapphire - one of my faves, it's actually brown or black & looks like it's got a star in the centre, garnet, topaz (blue or brown), amber, turquoise, onyx, tigerseye or similar. Emeralds & rubies from this area are also gorgeous, but a bit more conventional. Congratulations & good luck.
