Yes Mendy. Exactly. Many also have bee hives in and around their vineyards. At this point, the vines are loaded with grapes. The harvest will start in a few weeks. In about a month there will be this very sweet smell in the valley here of fermenting grapes. It can be a little strong at times. Then it's barreled up and moved into wine caves.
^ Additionally Mendy, Those are also sacrificial plants. In California we have moles and gophers. Those flowers give them free root food and they tend to leave the new vine plants alone.

The precision of wine vines growing. Around 3 years, they are split off to form this "Y" so grapes can be grown to make harvesting easier. At the end of each season, each of the vines are hand trimmed to manage the growth.
