Good effort, cutting out booze will lower your estrogen levels and decrease your moobs. Cut right down on carbs, especially sugar.

You need around 13 inches (lean, no fat) around your calves and a similar mass of meat around your upper arms to be healthy, depending on height.

Then, what are you going to do with all that extra skin you've built up over the years around your abdomen, chest, back and arms?
Off-topic from this thread, but I'll quickly reply (and then have a good glass of Merlot).

I only drink red wine in moderation, no beer now, no white rice, bread, pizza, pre-processed crap. Basically, my diet is raw veg salads, fresh fruit, walnuts, pecans, home-made kefir milk, probiotic yogs, oily fish, lean chicken, whey protein (in moderation), some eggs.

I'm about 14% fat now, according to my 'intuition' and fat caliper measurements. (I'm just back from a 6Km run, gym work and 15Km bike ride).

I've never been really fat, so luckily no flaps of skin - I never smoked, so my skin is still fairly elastic - Nivea lotion every day! As I approach 58 years old next month, I have never felt better and my blood/health tests confirm this.

Here's the problem with being a cyclist. My legs have very low fat - cannot measure any fat on them. You say 13 inch calves? I'm at 14 inch calf muscle now and I'm not a big guy. But.... my biceps are about 11 puny inches ==> pipe-cleaners.

If you watched my wine video clip, (sorry to take off my shirt but I was worried that I'd ruin my polo shirt), you'll see puny arms and puny chest - and that is where I'm having problems building up the muscle (dropping the last flab from my abs is fine - my diet is fat/carbs/protein 10%:45%:45%).

Back on topic, I'm sure that drinking a little good wine will not make me fat or unhealthy - pity there are no decent women here to drink it with...

    Update - I just remeasured my calves ==> 14.5 to 15 inches!!
Groping women when you're old is fine - everyone thinks you're senile

Your diet sounds excellent, and a little wine's no problem.
Creatine with your whey powder builds muscle fast, but remember muscle's bulked up with water, so take it easy.

Use resistance bands (I use a bicycle inner tube) to work out every muscle on your body, be creative, try different angles to improve all your arm and chest muscles.

Push ups are great, using your own body weight as resistance, if you can't do 25 reps off the floor, don't worry,..start with five off the back of a chair, then off the table, then the seat of the chair until you're doing 5, then 10, and so on off the floor.

Get a pair of 5kg dumbbells, do 5 reps, any pattern, then every pattern,..frequently, you'll soon be growing biceps that can pull your body weight up.

Don't run on hard surfaces, brisk walking and cycling's far better for you and won;t damage your knees, hips, spine etc.

Gymnema, (Chieng Da) helps reduce cholesterol and excess blood sugar, also acts as a muscle relaxant.

I thought Burmese women were quite pretty, but then again...beauty's in the eye of the beholder.

Good luck, just remember to stretch your arm and chest muscles, no work, no gain.

Oh, BTW, you can get a syringe and needle for the wine cork-popper at a medical supply store near you,...if there's one, or chat with a friendly health professional.

Ent, thanks for the useful advice.

Yes Burmese women usually are pretty, until they reach maybe 35 years old. Then something out of a horror movie happens overnight and their arses and hips double in size.

I had a full blood works check-up a few weeks ago in Thailand, bad cholesterol very low, good cholesterol high, everything so good that the doc said 'you are not fit - you are VERY fit!'. I'm very happy with my body health and diet - just need to tackle those matchstick arms and weedy chest (don't really have man boobs now).

Finding women in Yangon is not a problem, but in Naypyidaw it is an issue because it is a military/police city, with very (VERY) few expats. The local police often follow me in their vans at a discrete distance as I cycle to the nearby local areas. I know where the street of shame is, but if I pay a visit, it is likely that the local whores will flee in terror (it really is that bad!!).

As for the wine, I can actually buy a corkscrew here - I saw one in the shop yesterday, but ended up buying a walnut cracker instead....

    Yes well, not at all.

I usually write down a shopping list and then forget to bring the list with me. So when I was in the shops and my brain was trying to tell me that I had to buy something other than food, I wandered into the kitchen utensils section (which is actually just one short aisle of equipment), saw the nut-cracker and thought 'yep, that's what I wrote on my list'.

I hasten to add that I had bought a big bag of uncracked walnuts a few days previously, which had resisted my feeble attempts to open them by hand. So it wasn't a case of me losing the plot..... (well, only a little).

They did not even succumb when you unleashed the umbrella?

Should have had a crack using a syringe or a bicycle pump before giving in

Get to using those hand grips, they strengthen your fingers, wrists and forearms.

I use them while walking, one in each hand, getting a rhythm going, so using both legs, arms and heart (5 pumps) to pump oxygenated blood around my body.

A 5 mile brisk walk @ 15 minutes per mile = 75 minutes of walking. Add 2 hand grips to the exercise, @ 3-4 seconds per squeeze per hand, 3-4 second pause between each squeeze while other hand squeezes, = roughly 8 reps per minute per hand = 600 reps per hand by the end of the 5 mile walk, approximately.

Do that for a few days and you'll be cracking walnuts between your hands like a steam hammer.

You deserve a glass of good wine or two with your walnuts and nice bit of brie after that.

Ah Brie cheese, better than sex.

No fcuking brie cheese in this town. The best i can do is buy a piece of pre-packed, plastic NZ chedder and leave it for 2 weeks to grow green mold...

On the subject of cheddar, see if you can get this while you're in Bangkok:

    Magic stuff.

Not so sure, but I managed to get some in the quality cheese desert that is Seoul, so you should find it in Bkk.

Keep an eye out for it at some of the better places or Foodland/Villa.

    ^is that like Japanese Guinness?

I had a couple of bottles of Monteith's Black Beer last week.

Quality was awful compared to last time I got it. Maybe a bad batch.

Holy Shit. I take a week off and a couple of guys go off on a health and fitness run in a what are you drinking thread Haha.

However I have been limiting my drinking to once a week now. Actually I go through stages where I drink and then just stop. My wife and I were just way down south at an awesome Villa resort and I knocked off 1/2 a bottle of Grey Goose while chilling in pool while my wife had a very nice Italian wine.

There's only a couple of SE Asian beers I can stand,
    Dark Beer Lao and Archa.

All the rest taste like soap.
