    Archa beer.

As I am unable to get a can of guinness or a can of beer here in Cha-am, I don't mind drinking Archa.

Now, some of you have derided me for drinking the stuff, but I would like to point out to you 'naysayers'...

It won a Gold Medal in Australia!

Think it was a panel of Abo's that awarded that Gold Medal. Aussies will actually drink junkies' piss as long as its ice-cold. Fact.

You can win a gold medal at those awards based on just the packaging/marketing. You could piss in a bottle and still win one.

Completely different beast than regular old Chang domestic, which many suspect is not beer. It's bad reputation is well deserved.

Archa, Chang's close low-rent cousin, is nasty stuff.

I would be embarrassed for anyone to tag any such award to this crap.

He might be thinking of his beloved Madagascar, where the only beer available is short of home brew or French inspired!

No the first was Chang export, I believed the stuff on Chang Import and it is so weak its not even beer. Have a bottle from months ago in my fridge I refuse to drink.

    Awards

The Chang beer brand remarkably, within only four years became the number one selling beer brand in Thailand, achieving a market share of more than 50%. Today, Chang has an increasing presence throughout Asia and the rest of the world.
Hot off the success of winning two gold medals in 2008 at the USA World Beer Championships and Monde Selection in 2009, Chang has just been awarded another gold medal from the 2010 World Beers and Drinks Selection. In addition to these recent wins, Chang has also been awarded Australian International Beer Award medals, proving its international appeal.

If you drink a beer that is reasonably priced, you enjoy it and it gets you pissed then what has it got to do with anyone whether it has won an award or THEY think it is shite ?
I've drank a bottle of wine that cost over a thousand pounds and thought it was the same as drinking cheap vinegar and have had others at a fraction of the price and thought delicious.
Each to their own as they say.
    As an aside
I would rather lend a couple of thousand baht to a guy that drank Archa / Chang than I would a guy that drank heineken.
You will tend to get the money back from the Archa / Chang drinker whereas the heineken drinker will tend to fcuk you over.
Treat everyone as a complete and utter idiot and you can only ever be pleasantly surprised !

Oh jeez, the TD panel of beer experts again.

Anyone would think it was like a wine tasting.

Then again I can't drink 99% of UK brewed beer, regardless of brand. Luckily I have an eastern european shop near me...My definition of torture is having to be in a UK pub drinking draught fosters/carlsberg/stella all night with no choice. No wonder people want to fight eachother at closing times

Liked my bitters and milds etc in the UK, but in Thailand the best cold beer is Leo and ice, matter of fact I'm having one now. Jim

Archa is ok, the red bottled stuff is REALLY nice, and good for you too (and cheap for the %).

It's a bit like Tennent's Super but with a less pleasant taste.

Well worth the extra 6 baht.

I thought it was a good medium between premium beers and the cheapo shit beers. I drank lots of it in Thailand.

But I also drank lots of SiamSato Just to prove that I could do it
