    SINGHA Beer, USA

Happen to be looking for a specific Tequila for an upcoming card night with the boys and came across Singha Beer. Never looked before. Quite expensive here and only 5.0 Alc BV to boot. $1.42 versus ~ $.40. Its really not that good of a beer IMHO. Its cheap in TL but only quality is the Alc BV ........

    The Tequila,

Should be a good little party. Tune up coming......

Samuel Adams was my weapon of choice whilst travelling across the states. Wouldn't touch Singha here or anywhere else. For one, I'm quite certain its never won any awards.

It says it got 90 pts at some review called "All about beer". Like to see that panel of drunks.

I will say the empties make great targets for tossing empty coconuts at.

Singha is the best of a poor bunch in Thailand. I certainly wouldnt buy it in any other country.

But saying that, i would sooner opt for 170 bottles of Singha, than a 3/4 bottle of tequila if i was gonna spend 240 bucks in that shop.

    Im no aficionado though

I passed up the chance to buy cheap Singha from lidl in Ireland the other week. I thought necking a few would be " just the tonic " ( no pun I promise ) to make some solid plans to down a few in it's native country . Reality bit my arse though , and I ended up purchasing some Polish stuff instead.

I have had some nice top shelf Tequila's in my time but nothing that crazy. I wonder how much better it really is? Nice packaging though a little extravagant for me!

I used to have a Beer Singha once in awhile when I was in the US. My wife was working in a Thai restaurant so I got them free. They are better in Thailand.
I'm not saying it was Aliens, but it was Aliens!

Check Dan Murphys you can buy a slab 24 for about $48 they have Chang as well about same price - it is only 5% vol as well as all Chang is when exported.

Actually, Beer Leo, Beer Lao, or Chang Export are the best choices amongst a reasonably bad variety of domestic beer choices.

Beer Singha has just been around for a while [the original], that's why it gets all the play and upfront attention. Yet, it sucks.

The local tesco minimart by mine stocks it I think. I'll double check, is it worth a go?

^I used to drink it years past, and thought it was ok, but that may well have been because it (or anything) was soooooooooo much better than Singh.

Back in the day, beer [foreign or domestic] was not affordable on a regular basis for a majority of the Thai population...lau and it's assorted relations became the beverage[s] of choice for the working population.

Beer, mostly foreign brands, were available - but expensive.
Beer was the domain of higher set Thais and Farang.

This has all changed over a course of a generation.
Numerous and affordable domestic beers have been introduced, and today more Thais enjoy [or not] beer consumption than ever before. Foreign beers are taken on special occasions [image thing] or to secure a staus level.
