there are a lot of valid criticism about Descartes, but his work put into motion a lot more interesting theories. He was an inspiration, even if some of the things he said were questionable or too simplistic. And you can't argue with that

So, according to you, Butterfly, there is one true god, how can you know/proof that the other gods are not true or even not exist.
