The Krankies reveal they took part in wild swinging sex sessions

The oddest of odd couples in television history claim their Krankie panky made them ‘wilder than rock stars’ during their heyday.

Wee Jimmy Krankie, aka Janette Tough, may be diminutive in stature but she has conjured a tall tale about the swinging sessions she enjoyed with her partner Ian and a whole host of sex-obsessed couples.

Ahead of their latest panto season, the pair, who found fame in the early 1980s on the children’s show Crackerjack, have been talking candidly about their open relationship.

They told of a passion for bunk-ups in bunkers on golf courses (‘Jersey was good’) and how one lovemaking session on their 3.7m (12ft) boat went on for so long they nearly ended up in France. ‘But he couldn’t last that long now,’ said 64-year-old Janette who has been married to her on-screen father and off-screen husband for 46 years.

According to the couple, their lovers’ jealousy was the only reason what they describe as ‘the ding dong’ ended – along with a fear of a kiss-and-tell scandal in the media. ‘Today it would appear in the papers instantly. In those days people were very good,’ said Janette.

Ian, 64, who ‘used to run around housing estates with nothing on’, also admitted their crew were a sexually liberated bunch, with the double-decker tour bus boasting a ‘2ft-high club’.

‘The drink had a lot to do with it,’ he said, also recalling the time they shocked Status Quo with their antics on the road after the rockers lent them their own tour bus, duly returned in a state of disrepair.
