Thread: crossbows

does anyone know if the crossbows that they seem to sell in many places around pattaya are

a)legal
b)what sort of power they have i.e 2 metre long snakes can be taken with them
c) were to get extra bolts for them

dont like to kill snakes but 2 metre with my wife daughter ,dogs etc have to come first even the locals backed off from these things

where in thailand are you living that has a problem with 2 metre snakes?

Can't tell without seeing the ones you have in mind.

A friend of mine paid 1000 baht each for some and shoots rabbits in the UK with them.
He thinks they are great.

Our standard method of killing snakes in the outback queensland was a 2 metre length of barbed wire with the barbs removed apart from the past foot of so. A couple of whacks on the snake and it's back was broken. The ants did the rest.

A lot safer and more accurate than trying to take aim at an angry snake with your crossbow.

I,ve got a Siberian Samoyed. The dog is really good at killing Cobras, probably wont last though.

well just got up this morning to find both of my parrots taken in the night just a few bits feathers left 30,000 baht worth feel devastated both real good talkers its gotta go

Ever shoot a crossbow? Some (expensive) models are pretty accurate, but good luck hitting a snake with one.

Probably better with a good air rifle.
Erm pretty much any crossbow will kill a human.

shotplenty air rifles but hard to get over here but can buy crossbow anywere

but have to get rid of it quickly unfortunately im not home for a few days yet

Why don't you just hit it with a 3 meter long stick the same as a Thai would ?

GF's b-in-law gets his son (11) to deal with them, part of growing up in a rural area apparently. I measure them and keep stats for him, best two so far 1.92, 2.03m.

Some shame in this as I am stalled on 1.86, and that one was found for me.

I was going to say the same, keep some petrol in a fairy liquid bottle mainly coz you can squirt it a lot further let some petrol on the floor then light it. fuking bingo

In the NT I always had a long handled spade in the breezeway.

A chop to back to slow it down, then batter the fok out of it.

King Browns you do not want to mess with.
