Credit to both sides for a marvelous game of cricket.

There were no losers in my eye.

Test cricket was the real winner.

A lotta stiff upper lips about cricket being the true winner and all that cos no-one will admit they were disappointed to lose a game they should have won.

^ My stiff upper lid was happy the Poms fell apart again and snatched defeat from glory.

Test cricket has been under the hammer since Murdock's introduction of short form cricket and todays game dispelled any claim it should be binned.

I think if the Aussies can work out Harry Brook they will win the upcoming Ashes series easily.

I, like may others look forward to what has been in the past a great and generally competitive rivalry.

That's OK, the gloom will lift once India resume thrashing the convicts.

It won't though. We all know the gloom that's perpetually hovering over English sports isn't going anywhere and Australia will still be the World #1 Test nation regardless of the outcome.

I bet your the first to do a runner when the clamp comes down in the next Ashes series.

You can always take some solace that your Indian cousins spun the Aussies out on doctored wickets and tell everyone about your joy on the way home in your Taxi!

A prune..............probably the same colour and gives everyone the shits.............

I wouldn't call them doctored but know of course that they're tailor-made to best suit the local bowlers, and not suit the touring teams attack. Nothing wrong with that, we just know any Test wicket in Australia is normally going to be fast and bouncy for example which does not suit the Indian's. It'll be interesting to see how the Poms set their pitch conditions up in the next Ashes.

There I was, watching it live. Two runs required and Wagner beginning his run up. At which point the power went off for two hours.

Not the result I was hoping for. Nevertheless a fine game of cricket and congratulations to NZ for a very determined fight back.

For England, is Crawley the man we want opening at The Ashes?

For NZ, this was Wagner's day. From zero to hero over 5 days.

Well this is hilarious - India getting castled by spin 5 down with only 45 on the board inside 12 overs.

^Yeah but wait till their bowlers get their hands on the ball. This Test won't be going down to the death on day 5, might be over today at this rate

^ i don't see the point of preparing pitches that behave like a day three pitch on the opening day, still anything for win or not......

I do, the locals will handle a pitch that resembles a mine-field better than any visiting team ever will (in theory).

^ oh i understand the point if you want innings to last 50 overs and the game to be over inside 3 days.
