And yet it didn't in quali.

It's almost like there are other factors in play.

He's been driving like that for a while.

When your car is so obviously faster than anyone else, e.g. when you're winning a race by 30 seconds when you're coasting most of the way, why take risks?

His team were a bit upset with him for wanting a tyre change to go for the fastest lap the other week, but such is his dominance, the risk was negligible. They're not a team who fuck up pit stops either.

I can see why Whinger Spice is so against the 2026 engine changes, they have this car and driver in the sweet spot.

So basically like almost Hamilton's entire career with Mercedes.

He is confident that he does not need to be aggressive and opt for risky manouvres. If he is overtaking for a place or just passing a back marker, he knows how capable the car is, so he can afford to bin his more childish impulses.

Rosberg could have won eight in a row if Hamilton didn't shunt me off in Barcelona

Nico Rosberg has joked that he could have won eight F1 races in a row if Lewis Hamilton hadn’t “shunted me off in Barcelona” – referring to the infamous 2016 Spanish Grand Prix.

Rosberg is part of a very exclusive Formula 1 club, one of only five drivers to win seven or more races in a row. Max Verstappen equalled Rosberg, Michael Schumacher, and Alberto Ascari as the winning streak that started in Miami extended to Hungary.

Verstappen is now just two more consecutive wins away from matching another dominant Red Bull icon in Sebastian Vettel, who won nine races in a row during the 2013 season.

Nico Rosberg brings up key Lewis Hamilton clash

The only distinction Rosberg has compared to the other drivers at the very top of the consecutive wins list is his run was constructed over the course of two seasons rather than one.

He won the last three races of the 2015 campaign and added the P1 trophies from the first four races of the 2016 campaign to his collection, taking his streak to seven.

He thinks it could have been eight had bitter rival and team-mate Hamilton not, in his words, “shunted” him at the Spanish Grand Prix – a race which Max Verstappen would go on to win on his Red Bull debut at the age of just 18.

“Yeah, that was quite cool,” Rosberg said on the Sky Sports F1 podcast when asked about his own winning run.

“I would have had eight if Lewis hadn’t have shunted me off in Barcelona, for those of you who remember that race in 2016.

“I’m laughing by the way for those of you who can’t see me now, because that was a joke. That was that was a joke.”

Perhaps if it was limited to one car.

More sprint shenanigans this week so Quali today.

Mad Max will probably take a five place grid penalty because Red Bull have become the first team to need a new gearbox.

    Sprint Shootout ?

    New one ?

I take it that it's some kind of equivalent to the Biathlon known from wintersport,

Starting last would be my prefered position

    Can't wait for this one

"Sprint Shootout" is qualifying for the Sprint race.

Qualifying today is for the race.

All of this will make no sense to snubby because the sport is already too complicated for him.

You flag waiving fair weather moron, I have been watching F1 far longer than you. I know far more about the history of the sport than you do. You are not a car enthusiast, the only reason you watch F1 is to waive your little flag.

Go back to wasting your day smoking weed.

Ol' snubby once served burgers at Goodwood and thinks he knows all about F1 from it.
