Japan look badly coached to me; never thought much of that Joseph fella... Nonetheless, with the Ruskies looking exhausted, Japan will win easily, but they have zero chance against Scotland or Ireland, imho. They may lose to Samoa too.

Don't necessarily rate him myself but coaches can't catch high balls or chase the kicks though, and Japan have been a bit shite at that so far.

I feel a bit sorry for the Ruskies, they did a lot of decent work, showed some skills, but just not match fit at this level. & they've gotta play Samoa in 4 days...

Maybe Japan will get better as the tournament progresses; all they had to do was win this game and get ready for the tougher games to come.

    Well I know I'm not a nip.

Unlike the soccer World Cup and the Olympics, Rugby World Cup players are not required to be a citizen of the country they represent. To qualify, a player must be born, or have a parent or grandparent who is born, in the country; or have been resident in the country for 36 consecutive months immediately preceding the time of playing. Another requirement is that the athlete has never played 15-a-side rugby for another country’s senior representative team or next senior representative team (a nominated seconds team).
This explains how players of different racial, ethnic, and personal backgrounds can be wearing the same jersey and emblems, singing the same national anthem before kick-off.

He did pretty well with those numptys from Otago...

One of the guys I work with, played with him in Japan...in the old days.Maybe not a super coach, but certainly no fool.

Their game plan was gtood.Run the fuckers off their feet, which is what happened.

You've not seen the other teams? Same thing.

Good on Japan! Winning at home lifts the spirit and interest of the game

One or even two more wins . . . Samoa and Scotland are possible

It's not about the winning but of the taking part.

Not a lot of chatter about the France v Argentina match. Los Pumas are basically the Jaguares side that contested the Super Rugby final. How the Pumas/Jaguares go in test rugby interests me. Once again, with the Argentines it's all about finding that balance between discipline and cutting loose. I don't know much about the French side, but history says that they're a side that cannot be ignored.
    pues, estamos aqui

when you look at what the rugby world cup is generating at previous countries, japan will be laughing all the way to the bank.
setanta are supposed to be the only rugby sports channel showing THE HOME OF RUGBY IN ASIA so why not the world cup.
its not that long ago we would have laughed at the thought of japan playing rugby yet here they are hosting the THE GREAT WORLD CUP.
can someone tell me how i can get it on my TV.screen as i have a problem with the distance between the wi-fi comes through a land line about 20mtrs.from the tv.
i did read elswhere someone in bkk.tried to book the package with BEin being told NOT AVAILABLE IN THIS ZONE.
    thanks guys.HH.

Great to see Sammy Radradra in action again. Ex NRL Player

Man, there are some huge hombres in the Fiji side.

    Fiji on the board first.

    Penalty, then a Try.

Wallabies off to a poor start.
