Manchester United have completed the £72m signing of Atalanta forward Rasmus Hojlund.
The 20-year-old - who will miss the start of the campaign as he continues his recovery from an injury sustained in pre-season - has signed a five-year deal at Old Trafford, with the option of a further 12 months.

It was shit weather yesterday (14 celsius in August), but it was a decent day out in the end.

Piccadilly Gardens is depressing at the best of times, but when the weather is wet and grey it takes it to a whole new level.

Good seats for 25 quid each and Lens had brought about 1,000 fans over. Maybe a bit less, but they never stopped singing all game. Good on em.

Lots of kids in the crowd with their dads etc.

And we finished the night with a few pints in the village!

Oh yeah, we won 3-1 too.

I'm liking the look of this fella. United fan as a kid and told PSG to do one cos he only wanted to sign for the mighty Manchester United (he refused to even discuss personal terms with them).

You'd be pretty pissed off if you've paid good money to see United against Bilbao in Dublin today.

Sold out ages ago and you're gonna be watching Brandon Williams and Tom Heaton.

    Not good that.

TEAM NEWS | UNITED STARTING XI

United XI vs Bilbao: Heaton; Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Lindelof, Fernandez; Eriksen, Gore, Van de Beek; Pellistri, Sancho, Forson.

Substitutes: Kovar, Wooster, Evans, Jurado, Collyer, Hannibal, Emeran, Hugill.

Still no Martial. He hasn't played a single minute of football since he picked up a hamstring injury in May. I think calling him a squad player is perhaps even a touch too optimistic.

Bloody hell, Ander Herrera on the bench!

Not a bad line up that Bilbao one.

Oh, and helge, Rasmus Hojlund on MUTV and he said the pronunciation is HOYlund.

You told me it was HIGHlund. Are you sure you're a Dane?

I told you that it was pronounced like 'hoy', the thai word for snail, but also realised, that it might be too complicated for your limited brit brain capacity, and settled for 'high'.

Would work, if he'll ever snob downwards, and talk to you.

"Hi'lund, how are you doing ?"

    Try it

    ØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØ ØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØØ

You said "High" first and only later said it was the Thai word for snail.

But anyway, now we're friends again, let's not argue.

And in other news, it's currently United reserves 0-1 Bilbao.

In a surprising turn of events, it was a Harry Maguire mistake which led to the goal...

And Maguire redeems himself by setting up an equaliser for Pellistri in Fergie time!

A good challenge that was again today and 90 crucial minutes in the tank for the fringe players.

Actually the goal is still Trossard's. I suspect it was on target but took two deflections, one away from goal and one back on target.

I don't care who scored it, but it was still lovely. One of the best deflections ever!

Oh I quite agree. A thing of beauty.

    Why didn't Haaland play?

The rumours seem to suggest that Greenwood will be given a route back into the team in the imminent announcement.

I imagine the suits are hard at working out a dead cat strategy if this proves to be the case.

It will have to be some fucking dead cat.

Of course, this will hsve the legions of ABUs and United-obsessives frothing at the mouth even more than usual, so I can look forward to that at least.

Now that Ronaldo has left, I guess there is room for another 'alleged rapist' in your squad.
