    National Football League

NFL Draft 2025 Picks by Round

2025 NFL Draft: Titans, Shedeur Sanders agree to cancel private workout following Colorado Pro Day

The Colorado Buffaloes held their pro day in Boulder on Friday, and it was a highly anticipated event since it featured two players who are expected to go early in the 2025 NFL Draft. Reigning Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter put his impressive route-running ability on display, while quarterback Shedeur Sanders let it rip with his arm.

The Tennessee Titans hold the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, and they had several members of their brass in attendance, including general manager Mike Borgonzi, president of football operations Chad Brinker and offensive coordinator Nick Holz. The Titans were also expected to hold a private workout with Sanders but that will no longer happen.

According to Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official website, the Titans and Sanders' camp have agreed to cancel the upcoming private workout. Wyatt says the Titans have seen four years of game film from Sanders, scouted multiple games and were of course in attendance at the pro day. According to CBS Sports NFL insider Jonathan Jones, this furthers the leaguewide belief that the Titans will stick with the No. 1 pick and select Miami quarterback Cam Ward.

Raiders releasing CB Jack Jones after attempting to trade him

Jack Jones is once again on the move.

The Las Vegas Raiders are releasing the cornerback, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, the latest development in what has been a turbulent career for the 27-year-old Jones. Rapoport added that the Raiders initially attempted to trade Jones, but without a willing partner instead have chosen to cut him loose.

Jones was originally drafted by the Patriots in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft but only played just over a season in New England. He showcased his talents as a ballhawk in his rookie campaign, snagging a pair of interceptions and six passes defensed, but on and off-the-field behavior, including an arrest in June of 2023, culminated in the Patriots waiving him five games into his sophomore season.

He was picked up by the Raiders, then led by at-the-time interim head coach Antonio Pierce, who was also Jones' high school HC at Long Beach Poly. In 19 starts over one-plus seasons in Las Vegas, Jones accumulated five interceptions, three returned for touchdowns, as well as 20 passes defensed and 94 tackles.

But with the regime change in Las Vegas and Pete Carroll coming in as coach after Pierce's firing, Jones is evidently no longer in the Raiders' plan. He will now enter free agency looking for a CB-needy team with whom he can start his next chapter.

Arizona Cardinals’ Trey McBride becomes NFL’s highest-paid tight end, calls $76 million deal ‘biggest honor’

Every kid dreams of calling their parents to share life-changing news. Cardinals tight end Trey McBride is no different, as he became the NFL’s highest-paid tight end Thursday.

The Cardinals gave McBride a four-year, $76 million contract, keeping him in Arizona until the end of the 2029 season.

McBride called his family back home to share the life-changing news, but his mom already knew.

When ESPN’s Adam Schefter exists, it’s tough to be first in line.

“I didn’t think it would get leaked as fast as it did, so I thought I had a little bit of time to call my family,” McBride said at the Cardinals’ training facility Friday afternoon. “But unfortunately, it got out before I was able to call them, so my first phone call to my mom, she already knew the news.”

When Arizona drafted McBride out of Colorado State in the 2022 NFL draft with the 55th pick he was the first tight end taken. It took a while for him to find his footing in the league; in his rookie season, he was a backup to Zach Ertz and only recorded 29 catches. This past season, he caught 111 passes for 1,146 yards.

He reminisced about his years in the league so far on Friday.

“It’s been a journey,” McBride said. “There’s no doubt about it. I’m the first tight end taken and hardly played my first year. I got 29 catches, and it was a rocky rookie year. I didn’t play as much as I wanted to, but I kept my head down, and I kept grinding. I kept working hard, and I knew my opportunity would come.”

Davante Adams joining Rams: Six-time Pro Bowler signing two-year deal with Los Angeles

Davante Adams is headed to Hollywood. The six-time Pro Bowler and possible future Hall of Fame receiver is signing a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Rams, the team announced.

The signing of Adams makes sense for the Rams, who are in the midst of trying to trade former All-Pro wideout Cooper Kupp. With Kupp on his way out the door, the signing of Adams gives veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford another proven veteran wideout to throw to.

Adams, 32, spent the first eight years of his career with the Packers, where he put up prolific numbers while catching passes for future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Adams earned his sixth and most recent Pro Bowl nod as a member of the Raiders, where he spent two-plus seasons before he was traded to the Jets prior to last year's deadline.

Last season, Adams caught 85 passes for 1,063 yards and eight touchdowns in 14 games. During the 2024 season, Adams eclipsed 11,000 career receiving yards. He also became only the 12th receiver in history to catch over 100 career touchdowns.

Sources: Davante Adams to the #Rams. He gets a 2-year deal worth $46M with $26M guaranteed. He wanted to stay on the West Coast.: https://x.com/RapSheet/status/1898869885234565559 - Davante Adams joining Rams: Six-time Pro Bowler signing two-year deal with Los Angeles

2025 NFL free agency: Vikings sign Javon Hargrave, add Will Fries on reported $88M deal

The Minnesota Vikings did not pay big money to keep Sam Darnold at the start of the 2025 NFL free agent negotiating period, but that doesn't mean the NFC North contender is standing pat to open the offseason. Hours after reaching a three-year deal with former Washington Commanders star Jonathan Allen, the Vikings agreed to sign Javon Hargrave to a contract, according to NFL Media.

The Vikings are also signing Will Fries, formerly of the Indianapolis Colts, to a five-year, $88 million deal as the Vikings' new No. 1 interior lineman, CBS Sports NFL insider Jonathan Jones confirms; that contract would make him a borderline top-10 highest-paid guard in the NFL. The deal also reunites Fries with his former Colts teammate Ryan Kelly, the club's longtime center who agreed to a two-year, $18 million deal with Minnesota earlier this week.

2025 NFL free agency: Joey Bosa signing with Bills on one-year, $12.6 million deal, per report

Joey Bosa has found a new NFL home. Less than a week after being released by the Los Angeles Chargers, the five-time Pro Bowl pass rusher has come to terms with the Buffalo Bills on a one-year, $12.6 million deal, according to ESPN.

Bosa, 29, will help replace fellow former All-Pro pass rusher Von Miller, who like Bosa was also released just before the official start of free agency.

A former No. 3 overall pick, Bosa won Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2016 after recording 10.5 sacks and 17 tackles for loss. Bosa was named to his first Pro Bowl the following year and has had four seasons with at least 10 sacks. He made his fifth Pro Bowl in 2024 after recording five sacks and two forced fumbles in 14 games.

While he has proven to be a top-tier pass rusher, injuries have hampered Bosa in recent years. He missed nine games in 2018 and 23 combined games over the last three seasons due to injury.

Bosa will now join a Bills team that has won five consecutive AFC East division titles. Last year, the Bills advanced to the AFC Championship game but came up just short against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Dolphins Trade Idea Ships $90 Million WR to Chiefs

It's only a matter of time before the Miami Dolphins decide on Tyreek Hill’s future with the team. With his latest legal issues potentially coming into play, the Dolphins need to make a decision on what they want to do with the All-Pro.

The unfortunate reality is that Hill makes the Dolphins a better team, but with many fans wanting him gone due to his issues off the field and his below-average performance a season ago, it puts Miami in a challenging position.

That isn't even factoring in his cap hit, which will cost the Dolphins a hefty penny if they move on from him at any point over the next few months.

Looking for potential trades to move on from him, Last Word on Sports’ Liam Rebellato proposed a deal for the Dolphins to send him to the Kansas City Chiefs again, the team the Dolphins acquired him from a few years ago.

WR Cooper Kupp joins Seahawks on 3-year, $45M deal

Former Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp agreed to terms on a contract with the Seattle Seahawks, the team announced Friday night.

The deal is for three years and worth $45 million, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The move brings Kupp back to his home state and helps the Seahawks fill their void at wide receiver after they moved on from Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf.

Kupp, 31, grew up roughly 140 miles southeast of Seattle in Yakima, Washington, then attended college at Eastern Washington before the Rams drafted him in 2017. He was released at the start of the new league year Wednesday, after Los Angeles failed to trade him, ending his eight-season run with the team.

He acknowledged the Seattle news Friday by posting to X: "Washington back across my chest. Let's go!!!!!"

Milton Williams on choosing Patriots over Panthers: 'They wanted me the most and made me a priority. So, I made them a priority'

On the opening day of the free agent negotiating period, rumors flew about where prize defensive tackle Milton Williams might end up. The Carolina Panthers were hot after the former Philadelphia Eagles interior rusher. But the New England Patriots came over the top for the finisher.

In an interview on Friday's The Insiders, Williams detailed his interaction during the negotiation process.

"My agent was on the phone, and I was kind of in the room," he said. "They were on the phone talking to teams, and teams were coming in with new deals. There was a lot going on, and it happened really fast. They talked about Carolina then and I was like, 'alright, it sounds like the best offer we are going to get, so, we were going to go there.' Then, a split second later, New England hopped on and was like, 'Nah, this is what we got for you.' Carolina felt like they went too high on their number, so, they stayed at where they were at. New England came in, and it was [over] after that. They wanted me the most and made me a priority. So, I made them a priority."

The Patriots had plenty of money to shell out to trump any offer the Panthers made. In the end, they secured the Super Bowl champion with a four-year contract for $104 million, with $51 million fully guaranteed at signing.

Giants considered trading for Patriots’ high-upside quarterback

The New York Giants have been productive this offseason upgrading their quarterback room, but they missed out on making one potentially exciting move. The New England Patriots traded away QB Joe Milton to the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, and it was reported shortly after that the Giants were one of several teams that also expressed interest.

The Giants reportedly had interest in trading for QB Joe Milton

According to Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports, the Giants were among five teams that showed interest in trading for Milton this offseason:

“My understanding is since Joe Milton became available at the start of the offseason, teams that showed interest included the Raiders, Eagles, Giants, Steelers and the Cowboys,” Schultz reported on X. “The #Patriots had a better offer for Milton but chose to send him where he wanted out of respect for him, per source.”

It’s unknown which team gave the “better offer” that Schultz mentioned. However, instead of acquiring Milton, New York will instead compete against him as he lands within their division.

Milton could have been an interesting developmental project for the Giants
Entering his second NFL offseason, Milton had plenty of buzz on the trade market. The sixth-round pick from the 2024 NFL Draft played in just one game last season but flashed his immense potential in the outing, completing 75.9% of his passes for 241 yards and one touchdown with one additional rushing touchdown and zero turnovers.

Despite this strong performance and Milton’s rare blend of size and athleticism, the Patriots opted to move on with 2024 first-round pick Drake Maye in line to emerge as their franchise quarterback.

Milton will now be a backup quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, developing behind Dak Prescott. Dallas lost backup QB Cooper Rush in free agency this offseason. Milton will fill his role going forward. Dallas traded a fifth-round pick to the Patriots in exchange for Milton and a seventh-round pick.

Raiders Predicted To Select 151-TD QB of Future in NFL Draft Despite $85.5 Million Investment in Geno Smith

The Las Vegas Raiders took a considerable step to shore up their quarterback position by acquiring veteran Geno Smith from the Seattle Seahawks in March. The Raiders sent a third-round pick to Seattle and promptly signed Smith to a multi-year extension worth up to $85.5 million. It looked like Las Vegas finally had a short-term answer for the position on paper.

However, with the 2025 NFL Draft less than a week away, speculation continues to run rampant. The Raiders own the sixth overall pick, and some believe the franchise will still consider improving the quarterback position despite the large financial investment in Smith.

One name recently linked to the Raiders is former Colorado star Shedeur Sanders. According to NFL.com, Chad Reuter’s latest mock draft states that Las Vegas will select Sanders if he’s still on the board when the Raiders pick.

“Sanders to the Raiders makes all kinds of sense,” Reuter wrote. “Geno Smith’s new deal includes no guaranteed money after the 2026 season, per Over the Cap, potentially giving the team an out. Sanders would continue his relationship with minority owner Tom Brady and learn under Pete Carroll and Chip Kelly, giving the QB a chance to maximize his potential.”

Sean McVay to Trade for $32M Receiver as Davante Adams Makes Retirement Decision

It’s wild how fast things change in L.A. One season, you’ve got a Super Bowl MVP in Cooper Kupp tearing it up like he’s the main character in a football rom-com—next season, he’s packing his bags for Seattle like it’s the final episode of The Bachelor. The Rams said goodbye to their once-unstoppable WR1 this offseason, and suddenly it feels like the wide receiver room hit shuffle mode.

Kupp’s release didn’t just shake fans—it cracked open the whole vibe of Sean McVay’s offense. But just as everyone in L.A. was still processing Kupp’s departure, boom—McVay snagged Devante Adams in the free agency. And now? Well, now you’ve got a WR room with a certified route-running savant in Adams lining up next to Puka Nacua, the third-year WR who’s shattering records like it was just another Sunday stroll.

And let’s be real—Nacua isn’t just talking the talk. The guy literally amassed nearly 1,500 yards in his rookie season, and almost recorded another 1,000+ season in 2024 (in just 11 games). So yeah, it looks like McVay and the Rams are cooking something up by teaming Adams with Nacua. The kicker? Well, let’s say there might still be room for another weapon in the Rams’ receiving arsenal.

Let’s cut to the chase. A couple of days ago, Pro Football Talk released a list of veteran players that each team could trade in this off-season. While addressing the Atlanta Falcons, the PFF predicted that the Falcons could trade the star tight end, Kyle Pitts, who is playing out the fifth-year option on his rookie $32 million deal. The reason?

Well, the Falcons already have to consider their wide receiver, Drake London‘s upcoming contract extension, who’s about to enter the final year of his rookie deal after recording the best season of his career. Besides, Pitt just had an underwhelming season in Atlanta, where he managed to play under 40 snaps per game for the first time in his career.

Now the PFF believes that the Rams could trade for the 24-year-old wideout. Why? Well, if the Los Angeles team trades for Pitts, they could reunite him with his former offensive coordinator, Dave Ragone, who is the quarterback coach of the Rams. Now, there are a couple of things that could happen. Pitts caught 47 receptions for 602 yards and racked up just 4 TDs in the last season.

That means the Falcons could trade the fifth-year WR. On the other side, sure, the Rams have a seasoned vet, Tyler Higbee, on their roster. But considering Colby Parkinson just joined the team last year, and Davis Allen is yet to ripen, Pitts could be a right fit alongside Higbee to stretch the field. All in all, if Kyle Pitts ends up in L.A., let’s just say Sean McVay’s got himself a whole Avengers lineup at receiver next season, especially after Devante Adams is already on the roster.

2025 NFL draft live updates: Cam Ward goes No. 1 to Titans; Shedeur Sanders not selected

The Tennessee Titans selected Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward with the first overall pick to kick off Thursday’s NFL draft. While Ward was long expected to go first overall, the excitement of the night really began at No. 2.

The Cleveland Browns held the second overall pick but traded the selection — as well as a fourth-rounder and a sixth-rounder — to the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for the fifth overall pick, a second-rounder, a fourth-rounder and the Jaguars’ 2026 first-round pick.

With the newly acquired second overall selection, Jacksonville selected Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter, who played both wide receiver and cornerback at Colorado. It was a bold move by the Jaguars, who in addition to drafting Hunter are trying to resuscitate the franchise after they hired a new coach and a new general manager this offseason.

The Las Vegas Raiders were another team that made a splash early, selecting Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty sixth overall. The Raiders should have a fresh offense under new head coach Pete Carroll in 2025 after they traded for quarterback Geno Smith this offseason.

The back half of the draft featured more wheeling and dealing.

The New York Giants, who selected Abdul Carter third overall, traded with the Houston Texans to get back into the first round, taking Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart at No. 25. Dart is expected to sit behind offseason addition Russell Wilson for a year, while the Giants get the benefit of a fifth-year option on Dart by taking him in the first round.

The Atlanta Falcons also traded into the first, giving up a costly 2026 first-round selection to the Los Angeles Rams so they could take Tennessee edge rusher James Pearce Jr. with the 26th pick.

The Philadelphia Eagles also swapped picks with their Super Bowl rival the Kansas City Chiefs, moving from No. 32 to No. 31 to snag Alabama linebacker Jihaad Campbell.

One player notably not selected was Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who was a possibility for the Pittsburgh Steelers at No. 21. Pittsburgh was a popular destination for Sanders in mock drafts, but the Steelers ultimately took defensive tackle Derrick Harmon.

Sanders now slides to the second round, which will take place along with the third round on Friday.

2025 NFL draft: Judging overreactions to picks, team classes

There is no single event on the hype-infused NFL calendar that lends itself more fully to the concept of overreaction than the draft. Just about every pick is examined as a make-or-break decision for the franchise that makes it, regardless of all the historical data about hit rates and any reminders issued about reining in expectations.

This year, though ... this year has been special. The 2025 draft featured an entire sub-industry of overreaction around one particular player who ended up being the 144th pick.

When Round 1 passed Thursday night and Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders was still on the board, Friday's NFL discourse became all about why. When the second and third rounds ended Friday night and Sanders still hadn't been drafted, the discourse was on fire. Was this personal? Had Sanders' camp mismanaged the process to the point that teams were hesitant to take him? Five quarterbacks went in the first three rounds. One of them was Dillon Gabriel, who was ranked No. 217 overall by ESPN's Scouts Inc. Something had to be up, right?

At last, the Browns ended our long national nightmare when they traded up to take Sanders with the sixth pick of the fifth round. Cleveland had long made sense as a Sanders destination, but since the Browns were the team that took Gabriel at the tail end of Round 3, Saturday opened with some skepticism about whether Sanders was still a possibility.

Cleveland's quarterback room now includes Deshaun Watson, Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Gabriel and Sanders. That's three first-round picks and two rookies, which is kind of amazing when you step back and think about it. The Browns also have been considered a possible trade destination for veteran Kirk Cousins, who remains on the Falcons' roster as a very expensive projected backup to Michael Penix Jr.

How that all sorts itself out remains to be seen, but at least Sanders knows where he gets to go to work and try to prove to the NFL that he's better than the No. 144 pick. He also gets the privilege of kicking off our annual draft overreactions column:

    KANSAS CITY CHIEFS: A

Got tremendous value with OT Josh Simmons (32). DL Omarr Norman-Lott (63) and edge Ashton Gillotte (66) bolster the pass rush instantly. CB Nohl Williams (85) went higher than expected but can cover. WR Jalen Royals (133) could be fun go to watch in Andy Reid’s offense. LAS VEGAS RAIDERS: A

Got the top player at his position in RB Ashton Jeanty (6). WR Jack Bech (58) has a high ceiling. CB Darien Porter (68) has excellent upside. NFL draft 2025 winners and losers: bold Jags to a very weird Falcons weekend

Grading NFL drafts right after they happen is like grading a meal after you order it: all you know is what was said on the menu. That said, drafts do tell you a great deal about how NFL teams think about themselves at a particular point in time – what they need, where they’re lacking, and how they want it all to come together. Whether right or wrong in the end, there’s no more clear indicator of team philosophy than the annual three-day exercise, and that’s why it’s important beyond the players who are actually selected.

While it will be years before we know how wise each move was in the 2025 draft, here are those who benefited most and least, as well as the decisions we feel are worthy of applause, and the ones that had us shaking our heads.

    WINNER: The Jacksonville Jaguars

When the Jaguars moved up from the fifth overall pick to the second in a trade with the Cleveland Browns to select Colorado cornerback/receiver/unicorn Travis Hunter, they were making history in more ways than one. This marked the first time that a team moved up into the top five in a draft to select a non-quarterback since 1997, when the St Louis Rams moved up to take offensive tackle Orlando Pace, who wound up in the Hall of Fame. And if you consider Hunter more of a cornerback than a receiver, he became the highest-drafted player at that position in the NFLÂ’s common draft era, which goes back to 1967.

The Jaguars gave up their fifth overall pick in 2025, as well as their 36th and 126th picks in 2025, and their first-round pick in 2026 for the right to draft Hunter, and ClevelandÂ’s 104th and 200th picks in 2025. Cleveland (more on them in a minute) took Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham with the fifth pick, Ohio State running back Quinshon Judkins with the 36th, and Tennessee running back Dylan Sampson with the 126th. Good players all, which is important to a Browns team with multiple needs, and that extra 2026 pick could mean a lot in next yearÂ’s superior quarterback class.

    LOSER: The Atlanta Falcons

The FalconsÂ’ need for pass-rushers on the edge was perhaps the most obvious in the entire draft, and the team went all out to fill it. Perhaps a bit too all-out. Atlanta selected GeorgiaÂ’s Jalon Walker with the 15th overall pick, and Walker can rush the passer very well from the defensive line and from linebacker depth. Then, the Falcons traded their 46th pick in the second round, their 242th pick in the seventh round, and their first-round pick in 2026 to move up to No 26 to select Tennessee pass-rusher James Pearce Jr.

Pearce has been productive, with 23 sacks and 113 total pressures over three seasons with the Volunteers, per Pro Football Focus. But he is a bit of a one-trick pony at this point – if he can’t win with speed around the edge, he struggles to win at all, and one-trick ponies tend to struggle at any position in an NFL with more dimensional demands.

The price the Falcons paid there was especially odd given what the New York Giants paid to trade up for the 25th selection one pick before what Atlanta did. For the rights to select Jaxson Dart, the Giants gave the 34th pick in the second round, the 99th pick in the fourth round, and a third-round pick in 2026 to the Houston Texans. ThatÂ’s a more reasonable transaction, and now, the pressure is on Pearce to perform to a higher standard, through no fault of his own.

LOSER: Dillon Gabriel, QB, Cleveland Browns
WINNER: Caleb Williams, QB, Chicago Bears
WINNER: Howie Roseman, general manager, Philadelphia Eagles
    LOSER: The 2025 quarterback class

Eli Manning seeking ownership stake in New York Giants

Eli Manning wants an ownership stake in the only team he played for in his NFL career. According to Bloomberg, Manning is putting together a group of investors to bid on a minority non-controlling share of the team.

Manning spent the entirety of his NFL career with the New York Giants from 2004-19. He is best remembered for leading the Giants to 2 Super Bowl wins (and his 2 Super Bowl MVP nods), along with his remarkable streak of 210 consecutive starts from 2004-17.

For his 236-game career, Manning posted a completion percentage of 60.3, 57,023 passing yards and 366 passing touchdowns. He was selected to the Pro Bowl 4 times (2008, ’11, ’12, ’15) and named Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year for 2016.

Manning was nominated for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2025. He was named a finalist but not selected to be inducted this year.

Recently, Manning helped welcome fellow former Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart to the Giants.

“It’s been an honor and a lot of fun rooting for you these past three years at Ole Miss, and I look forward to rooting for you for the Giants for the next 15 years,” Manning said in a nod to his career with the team. “Congratulations, pal. See you soon.”

Washington D.C., Commanders to host 2027 NFL Draft, per reports

The 2027 NFL Draft will be held in Washington D.C., according to multiple reports. Axois was the first to report the news.

An official announcement is expected Monday at the White House. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and Washington Commanders owner Josh Harris will reportedly be joined by President Donald Trump, who has an unspecified sports-related announcement scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on Monday.

The 2027 draft announcement will come a week after the Commanders revealed intentions to build a new stadium on the old RFK stadium site. Plans for the 65,000-seat venue still requires the approval of the District of Columbia city council

Fan sues NFL for $100 million over Shedeur Sanders' draft slide, citing 'emotional distress and trauma'

Former Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders was viewed as one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft, and many experts believed he would be selected in the first round. However, the son of NFL legend Deion Sanders fell all the way to the fifth round before he was scooped up by the Cleveland Browns with the No. 144 overall pick.

Sanders' draft slide surprised everyone -- one fan so much that he is suing the NFL for $100 million in punitive damages, "for the harm caused to the Plaintiff and the impact of the NFL's actions on his emotional well being," according to court documents, via MSNBC.

In the lawsuit, "John Doe" says he's a dedicated fan of the Colorado Buffaloes, and that he closely followed Sanders over the past two college football seasons. The Plaintiff claims that the reports and "leaked statements" suggesting that Sanders "tanked interviews," "wasn't prepared" and "was too cocky" in the pre-draft process helped create a narrative that "unjustly harmed" his reputation. These "slanderous statements" caused "emotional distress and trauma to the Plaintiff as a fan and consumer."

This second-round pick just signed a historic rookie deal

Wide receiver Jayden Higgins has made NFL history. According to his agent, Chris Cabott of Equity Sports, the Houston Texans and Higgins have agreed to a fully guaranteed four-year, $11.7 million contract. This deal makes Higgins the first second-round pick to have a fully guaranteed contract in NFL history.

The Texans selected Higgins with the No. 34 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. He played his first two collegiate seasons at Eastern Kentucky before transferring to Iowa State for his final two years.

In 2024, Higgins earned second-team All-Big 12 honors after racking up 87 receptions for 1,183 yards and nine touchdowns -- all of which were career bests. That came a year after he totaled 53 catches for 983 yards and six touchdowns for the Cyclones.

2025 NFL schedule release: 10 must-see matchups this season, including Eagles-Chiefs Super Bowl LIX rematch

One of the most anticipated days on the 2025 NFL calendar is this week -- the release of the 2025 schedule. The schedule release certainly isn't for everyone, as fans already know the opponents for their favorite team heading into the release. For others, the schedule release is an opportunity for fans to plan road trips to see their favorite teams play and what day their team will be playing.

The NFL isn't just played on Sundays anymore. The league has a full-season slate of "Thursday Night Football" games in addition to the long-standing tradition of "Monday Night Football." There are three games on Thanksgiving, three games on Christmas, and eight international games on the slate. There is even a game played on a Friday in Week 1 of the regular season (the game in Brazil) along with multiple games played on Saturdays in late December and early January.

Not only does the league have a variance of days, but multiple television and streaming partners that make the schedule release even more intriguing. CBS and Fox have the Sunday afternoon package, while NFC has "Sunday Night Football" and ESPN/ABC have "Monday Night Football." Amazon Prime has "Thursday Night Football" and NFL Network has selected International Series games and late-season Saturday games. Netflix has two Christmas Day games while Peacock and ESPN+ will get to exclusively air one game. There may even be a new streaming partner for the Brazil game in 2025.

The opponents are known, but when they will play each other will be revealed on Wednesday. That makes the NFL schedule release intriguing, along with the nationally televised games each team will receive.
