    *** Spoiler Alert ***

Took Joshua 10 rounds to get a stoppage, although he was in control for most of the fight.

    Not very interesting really.

Deontay Wilder smashed replacement (and the only guy to previously last 12 rounds with him) Bermane Stiverne in 1 round last night. His last 2 scheduled opponents (Povetkin & Luis Ortiz) both failing drug tests.
Wilder took out his frustration on Stiverne, dropping him with a beautiful right hand. Subsequently knocking him down 2 more times and out, right at the end of the first round.
Big call out to Anthony Joshua after the fight ended, obviously. Wilder calling him a "juicer" (doper) interestingly..

Hoping the unification fight happens between these two guys next year. Will be the biggest Heavyweight fight since the Tyson era.

That's if Joshua doesn't run and it looks like he is going to.

"I've been waiting on that fight for a long time now. I declare war upon you," Wilder said as if speaking to Joshua. "Do you accept my challenge? I've been waiting for a long time. I know I'm the champion. I know I'm the best. Are you up for the test?"

Said promoter Lou DiBella, who also wants to see Wilder face Joshua: "He'll put Anthony Joshua to sleep. No one has the reach he has. No one has the jab he has. No one has the power he has. Certainly, Anthony Joshua doesn't have it. Deontay Wilder is the scariest heavyweight on the planet."

Joshua promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing has campaigned for Wilder to first fight British contender Dillian Whyte, but there is little interest in that fight, at least on this side of the pond.

"Stop with this Dillian Whyte s---," DiBella said. "Who the f--- is Dillian Whyte? Come on, Eddie, let's play. You want to do [Joshua-Wilder] at a soccer stadium in the U.K., let's do it. Deontay Wilder will put Anthony Joshua to sleep the same way he just put Stiverne to sleep. Nobody has that kind of power. Deontay Wilder is Anthony Joshua's worst nightmare. The winner of Joshua-Wilder is the real heavyweight champion. That fight has to happen. The boxing fans deserve it. We don't want to wait."

Wilder does not seem to afraid. Called him out after the fight as he has for a year now.

After demolishing Bermane Stiverne in Round 1 on Saturday, heavyweight world titleholder Deontay Wilder had a message for fellow titlist Anthony Joshua: “I’ve been waiting on that fight for a long time now… I declare war upon you. Do you accept my challenge?... I’ve been waiting for a long time, I know I’m the champion, I know I’m the best. Are you up for the test?” Joshua-Wilder is the fight boxing fans want and could happen in 2018.Andres Ferrari, ESPN Editor

Who exactly has Wilder beat of note up to now?

Fraudley Harrison is one of the better fighters he faced

Seems we will be able to get a wager going on this fight. I say the same for Joshua...

Yep it is looking more and more to be the case. Why is the AJ camp not coming straight out to book this fight? Hmmm..

^ Will wait until the fight is actually booked. Looks like this Dillian Whyte is a higher priority.

True, but AJ's resume (other than an ageing Klitschko) isn't stellar either. The truth is that the Heavyweight Divn hasn't been the same since Tyson cleaned it up in the 80's. Big guys would rather play American football, basketball, rugby, or whatever else pays lots of money for not having your brains scrambled..
The money is there now, though. Joshua is a bankable star, and huge in the UK. Wilder vs AJ is the only meaningful fight in that category. The rest are either bums or serial drug-cheats.
Wilder is 6'7", very athletic, has an amazing reach. And an absolute fucking Bazooka of a right hand.

Miguel Cotto ended his boxing career on Saturday with a surprise loss to Sadam Ali in his adopted second home in NY's Madison Square Gardens. Ali was faster and the stronger fighter over the full 12 round duration, spoiling Cotto's leaving party and taking his (WBO) World Title at Light Middleweight.
Cotto has been a true champion, fighting everyone out there, ducking no one, and picking up multiple-weight titles in a sure-fire Hall of Fame career, the most successful Puerto Rican boxer ever.

Heads up for this weekend!!!. A boxing purist's wet dream, it's the title fight between arguably boxing's current P4P Champions at Jr Lightweight; double-Olympic champs and current World professional champions *gasp* Vasyl Lomachenko and Guillermo Rigondeux. (First time this has ever happened in boxing).

Could be a Matrix-like cerebral chess match between 2 supremely technical and unorthadox boxers, or a complete stink-fest as they are both counter-punchers. (Might even be a tear-up brawl, nobody knows).
Lomachenko is the current betting favourite, as Rigo is coming up in weight to try take Loma's World title (and unofficial P4P title) this Saturday 9th Dec. (10th morning, Thai time).
Boxnation has the fight. Also Sky Main Events. (Other normal streaming outlets / feeds available).
Anyone offering a prediction on this one?

Who decides who is 'arguably' the best pound for pound fighter right now?

    Is it you?

Yes. I am the fucking oracle on this thread, Dill.

J/k. Every pundit, website, fan, etc has their own list of the top guys across the spectrum of weights.

The Ring magazine used to be the bible for stuff like this. Until Oscar DLH got his coke-encrusted fingers on it, and turned into the Golden Boy Pages.
