A DiVX HDD 400GB - acts as a standalone video player doing hD and a USB device
Can anyone recommend the show Boston Legal? I've yet to watch an episode but after watching this clip I'm convinced that I need to check it out:
I've watched all 80 odd eps, it was riveting, funny and addictive.
The torrrent I found was almost HD quality, you could see Cap'n Kirks' nose hairs.
Not a TV show or a Movie. "Roy Orbison, A Black & White Night" Impressive band & back up.

Great way to spend 80 - 90 minutes, bears re-watching a few times.
Almost bought one with 500GB from Samsung with WiFi, Ethernet, USB2, Firewire,DVI etc... it was about 400 Euros but I have home theater with UBS output so I didn't want another Multimedia box, so the 500GB with a very nice FireWire case for only 150 Euros was a better deal IMO. But yeah, if you don't have already a device to play DIVx or connect to USB, those Multimedia Box are definitely worth it.Originally Posted by mrsquirrel
if there are television shows you like and you have a broadband connection there are software players you can install on your computer , subscribe to a tv show rss feed , select the shows you want , built in bittorrent client will down load them , just wake up in the morning / come home in the evening and watch.
at the bottom of this article is an easy tutorial to set up miro player and subscribe it to tvrss.com.

Mine only cost 6oooB or so maybe less.
I wouldn't bother with WifI ones they all got shite reviews. Saying wifi was too slow.
Same. utorrent & related torrent sites (piratebay, mininova, torrentspy, etc...) are the way fwd imho.
BTW, back on topic for a moment.
Yesterday, I watched "the condemned". A sort of "Battle Royale" except without the japanese schoolgirls and replaced with "hardcore" criminals bailed out of jail and put on an island. Theme: Kill or be Killed, last survivor gets freedom.
Could have been good.
Was terrible.
(Especially if you know the japansese Battle Royale (book & movie)
But having said that, after working 14 hours and cooking for a dinner for over 750 people, it was quite perfect old fluff to relax too.
Some classic Vinnie Jones moments, but unfortunately was produced by the WWF. (wrestling)
Just found this forum and have been reading all 43 pages of this thread.
Very interesting, I like a lot of the recommendations.
Big fan of comedy, here are my recommendations of UK shows:
Peep Show, 4 series (best UK sitcom of the last 10 years - don't need to take my word for it, see reviews on the web - better than The Office even, which I loved)
Green Wing, 2 series (superb comedy drama, but with the emphasis on surreal comedy)
Nighty Night, 2 series (very funny - written by Julia Davis - who appeared in Big Train and Jam)
Brass Eye (best sketch show ever)
The Day Today (second best sketch show ever)
Jam (extremely dark, and sick in parts, sketch show)
Nathan Barley (excellent sitcom about the press)
(all written or co-written by Chris Morris - the best and most intelligent comedy writer ever)
The Thick of It (a very modern political sit-com, incredibly funny and intelligent)
On that note - Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister from the 80's - funny, intelligent and great dialogue
I'm Alan Partridge; Knowing Me, Knowing You With Alan Partridge; Coogan's
Run (anything else with Steve Coogan in it - Saxondale is also worth a watch)
Father Ted - pure genius
The Mighty Boosh, 2 series (very surreal sitcom)
Monkey Dust (a quite sick but satirical funny cartoon sketch show)
Both series of Life on Mars are excellent and highly recommended.
Shameless is must see.
I must take issue with the person who recommended the IT Crowd.
I saw the first series. Terrible, I can't believe Chris Morris appeared in it. It shows that he didn't write it though!
If you want my view on any other UK comedy series you have heard, I have probably seen it, so just let me know.
ChiangMai noon - if you liked This is Britain, I think you will like Dead Man's Shoes - very different plot, but similar themes.
Think that's enough from me for now.
"Arrested Development" (2003)
Funny as hell!
Yep, "Pretty Woman" was the finale. you mentioned "The Boss" I suppose you meant Bruce Spingsteen, IMO, he was the only on hamming ti up on stage trying to be noticed. Still a great show but watch BS and the dynamic with the other backup men, Jackson Browne, Tom Waits Elvis Costello TO name a few. he got owned eery time he tried to compete with the lead Guitarist to the left and behind of Roy. Forget his name but Damn he was good.Originally Posted by kayo
The whole idea was a tribute to R.O. And it was a good one. Springsteen is just a ham and can't help himself I guess, didn't ruin the idea but sometimes you get the feeling he lost sight of it. Still a great show definitely worth a download

I loved Jam, but you need to have quite a sick sense of humour.
Try watching Jaaaaam on the DVD. The original series, just with the sound and visuals very distorted!
Just got round to watching it today, ff.
I enjoyed the show, and agree what you say about Springsteen. He did seem to be enjoying himself, though, and mightily in awe of R.O.
Tom Waits - my all time favourite artist - was sadly practically unheard on stage. He may as well not have been there! But he seemed to enjoy some moments there all the same.
For anybody who enjoyed the Luc Besson produced Taxi (late 90's) (French) as much as I did, I didn't realise there were sequels.
Taxi 2 is okay.
Taxi 3 is still d/ling.
T4xi is crap. They barely use the car/cabbie that made the movie work in the first place.

That figures.
I heard Hollywood made a reimagining of it with that dumb bitch calls herself Queen fattylah or something.
Not touching that with a bargepole (movie nor the "actress")
The Hollywood version is too crappy for words.
Walmart: The High Cost of a Low Price
This is a doco which pretty much spends the entire time proving why Walmart is a horrible and corrupt company that is ruining America. Stories are told from owners of Mom & Pop stores that were run out of business when a Walmart store would open in their town. Employees (although probably now ex-employees) tell their stories as well -- like the fact that unions are strongly discouraged, so much so, that when employees talk about unionization, a bunch of VPs fly in on their corporate jet and do everything in their power to stop them. Then the focus switches to the overseas factories where Walmart products are made. They interview workers in China, who work in the sweatshops for $3 a day making Walmart products. One employee states that "Walmart informed the factory that they were going to send people here for the inspection, and they will tell us how to lie for the inspection."
The structure of the doco is pretty damning -- they have the CEO speaking, and they'll air snippets of claims he makes (like customer satisfaction) and then the doco will disprove him (they'll interview customers that say the exact opposite of what he claims). He comes off as a real scumbag and a hypocrite. Very interesting doco. If I ever go back to the US, I'll never shop there again.
"Fuck off. And take your stupid cult with you."
-Scarlett Johansson to Tom Cruise
Love Me Long Time: Sex Tourism in Thailand.
30 minute doco about bargirls on Koh Samui and the idiots who fall for them. Not particularly done well -- it goes off on unecessary tangents to the Full Moon Party and other nonsense, but the interviews are very candid. One guy states "I don't consider myself a sex-tourist. I consider myself a go-out-and-have-fun tourist."
Try "The Corporation" with Michael Moore
a very long doc (2h30) about the origin of US corporations and how they control the world
Wow... lot's of documentaries.
Well, I've just finished watching the entire first series of Heroes.
i must say, it is far better than I expected. It's also a documentary of sorts![]()
..Ok, it's not. But it has interesting elements to it, though. A politician who seems to be guided/controlled by various mysterious individual and secretive corporations to a position of power. Said mysterious backers are trying to arrange a large scale attack on New York, in order to try to change the world order.
Throw in an Indian bloke, Some cute gals, and a funny as fuck japanese dude, et voila!
