    Civilization, Fallout

havent read the thread, but should you play only 2 games ever in your life, choice is simple :

    Civilization (any)
    Fallout (any)

I've just completed Red Dead Redemption 100%.
That is the first time I've ever been bothered to complete a game in it's entirety, not just the main story line.
Time taken was 74 hours, not that I was in a rush and as I've said before there's still plenty of reasons to play the game, 74 hours game-play is a lot of bang for your buck.

Yep Red Dead Redemption is really good.

There's the main game and then you have online multi-player as well - although the online stuff I leave to my son as I am too old to get anything except frustration from being killed non-stop by bloody kids.

Anyway I consider it S$62 well spent

Back to Battlefield 2, Bad Company. I've now completed it on Normal and Hard mode!!! Oh yes, I've never completed a game on hard before.

Now I've finally got the internet hooked up at my house I'm getting some serious on line play on the go. This is one of the bast games I've ever played

Brilliant game. I was playing Bad Company 1 online for about a year an half, had some great laughs and teamed up with a lot of good players, total war. I bought BC2 but didn't have quite the same gameplay as BC1 so sold it after a month. Awesome game though and I think I might get it again.

I've been on the forums and that is the same feeling that a lot of players have said. But to me it's new so I f'ing love it

I love the way that it sees so real and that you are part of a team. I don't have any urges to join the army now, its friggin hardcore.

I watched a few youtube video's that helped explain the strategy to me. Here's a good one that gives you a good overall feel of what you should be doing in the online play.

They made the maps a lot 'tighter' to encourage close quarter combat to appeal to Call of Duty players, which they have succeeded in doing, and have made a game better than CoD imho. The great thing about BC1 though was the open environments that used vehicles more and required a more organised tactical effort to win on attack or defence. Hopefully the next installment will bring this back now that the game has got the bigger audience that DICE were after. BC2 improved the game in every way except tactically, with a good team though tactics still pay off.

Gonna have to get myself back to Port Valdez real soon...

Has anyone played Heavy Rain? I finished it recently and wanted to play it through again straight away. I really enjoyed it although I was a bit unsure at first cos things seemed a bit slow and I felt like I wanted to do more. After getting used to the controls/gameplay I couldn't stop, I'd have liked the ability to save at points of my choosing (so I could go back and change my actions).
and he just stands there, waiting for me to drive my truck straight through him, with LIGHT coming out of his mouth!

I'm still loving Bad Company 2. They released the Vietnam extension pack which I bought myself for christmas. It's bloody good but I've only had time for a few games on it.

BC2, plus the expansion are great, but, I still think BF2 was a better game. Im looking forward to what BF3 has to offer.

PC through and through. Tbh im glad BC2 isnt as good as BF2, as I spent way too much time on BF2. Mods, expansions, and clan leagues etc.

There doesnt seem to be much info on BF3 yet, only that it should be out on cross platform later this year. I also heard talk of trying to integrate gameplay from across all platforms, but im not sure if its possible yet.

I guess i`d better get saved up for a divorce, if BF3 is as good or better than 2.

Here`s one of my favourite vids from BF2. It took bloody weeks to master some of the stunts in it.

In a moment of weakness I bought BFBC2 and the Vietnam expansion pack for the Xbox.

Seems like a good game, but I don't last long before being killed so have hardly played it. Probably better if i had some online mates to team up with. but i don't.

Wish they would remake Battlefield 1942 with all the maps, vehicles, ships etc.
Battlefield 1943 is good as far as it goes, but with only 3 maps and no navy ships/subs etc to bomb around in, it just isnt the same.

These games with modern weapons etc are all well and good, but the planes are too fast for the size of the maps. WW2 is the best. BF3 doesnt really interest me at all.

That happens a lot at the start until you start getting weapon and armor upgrades. It also helps if you have your mic on and hopefully some of your team mates will have theirs on.

Did you watch the "How not to be a noob" vid I posted up top #84?

That vid helped me a lot.

I get the impression BC2 is aimed more at your modern warfare player, as there's too much dieing and also less emphasis on teamwork and tactics, unlike BF2 and its predecessors. Lets hope EA and Dice rectify this in BF3. Also, some of the mods in BF2 were actually better than the original game itself.

played a couple of hours on BC 2 Vietnam today.

quite good, although due to having shit reactions I played mostly as recon, staying a bit behind the action, getting points for spotting enemies and sniping now and again. Found out that you can call in a mortar strike as well.

would be better to play as a team though and i can see those guys attacking in squads were getting good results - usually at my expense.

Dead Rising 2 Has anybody played it?

Normally I don't think I'd go for this kind of game in the shops but after watching a couple of vids it looks like it could be a bit of fun just mass killing loads of zombies. It doesn't look like its possible to die, well not at the start anyway, the guy in this vid makes it look a bit harder than I reckon it is but he is pretty wasted.

It looks like the kind of game you could play when your pretty drunk and not do too badly.
