Saltburn - Lovely performances from Richard E. Grant and Rosamund Pike which gave it some substance which in truth it did not have, overall.

Emerald Fennell is over praised in my opinion and her works enjoyed by the chattering classes are overrated.

Saltburn is pretty much a pastiche of Waugh and Patricia Highsmith whose Ripley Fennell has plagiarised.

Still, at least it wasn’t another piece of formulaic, childish American trash but was written for adults and had some great dialogue.

^I didn’t realize Rosamund Pike was British. Did you see ‘I Care a Lot?’ She was great in that.

    ^Another old one……

My older sister and I attended the movie in Coral Gables, FL when it opened and at one point she started laughing. I later found out that it might have been a defense mechanism.

    She was frightened.

    Slow horses uk spy drama

Just got final part series 3 episode 6 of Slow Horses many torrrents in usual places, if you have not seen watch series 1 and 2 in sequence equally excellent

No spoiler but Gary Oldman brilliant and many strong performnce.Reminds me of dreary days in similar London Offices and the scruffy /industrial realism which started with Euston Flms and Lynda La Plante Widows

The nonchalant anti here has many examples Dashiel Hammet's Sam Spade, Colombo, Dirty Harry, and of course 3rd man and Michale Caine as Harry Palmerin the Len Deighton stories or Ricahrd Burton as the Spy who came in from the cold,Finney in Gumshoe and the closest scruffy, nose picking junk food in dirty raincoat, crusty detective in Dalziell in Dalziell and Pascoe

The writing and dialogue equalled Deighton, Dexter Hammet and Val McDermid all mastesr of their craft

Not sure if a fourth series moot but eet me know as its one of the best UK series IMHO since WIre in the Blood

Slow Horses Season 4 Release Window Updated By Showrunner

    BYABDULLAH AL-GHAMDI
    PUBLISHED 1 DAY AGO

Slow Horses season 4 gets a candid update, with showrunner Will Smith clarifying when to expect new episodes of the popular spy dramedy.

The article contains spoilers for Slow Horses season 3.

    SUMMARY

    • Slow Horses season 4 won't premiere later than a year from now, according to showrunner Will Smith.
    • The biggest mystery in season 4 is the identity of the member of the titular team who has died.
    • Slow Horses season 4 will address the lingering thread of the top-secret file and the potential romance between Louisa and River.

Slow Horses season 4 gets a candid update from showrunner, screenwriter, and executive producer Will Smith. Based on the Slough House novels by Mick Herron, the spy thrillerreveals what administrative purgatory is like for those who've been rejected or downgraded from MI5. It centers around Slough House, where the downgraded agents are expected to do dull tasks under the supervision of experienced intelligence officer Jackson Lamb (Gary Oldman). However, they always tend to end up investigating far more serious threats. The cast also includes Jack Lowden, Kristin Scott Thomas, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, and Christopher Chung, among others.
In an interview with Decider, Smith shared an update on Slow Horses season 4. Though the showrunner mentioned that he didn't know an exact premiere date, he added: “you won’t have to wait longer than a year.” The full quote is below:
“I genuinely don’t know. But I can tell you that it won’t be later than this time next year. So you won’t have to wait longer than a year.”
Slow Horses season 1 premiered on April 1, 2022, while the second installment debuted on December 2, 2022. Slow Horses season 3 started November 29, 2023. Based on Smith's comments, the show could return in the fall or winter of 2024.

What To Expect From Slow Horses Season 4

Arguably the biggest mystery to be answered in Slow Horses is which member of the titular team has died. The revelation that one of the titular slow horses comes in the preview at the end of the season 3 finale. In typical fashion for the Apple TV+ spy comedy, the surprise comes almost like a punchline. Jackson Lamb brushes off the suggestion of a shower, saying it's hardly appropriate when one of his own has just died. But it's not clear who that is.

Fans of the new Apple TV series Slow Horses have a wide variety of options in the spy genre to binge on.

Another lingering thread from Slow Horses season 3 is the fact that River Cartwright (Lowden) has a copy of a top-secret file in his possession. This happens after Cartwright and Louisa (Eleazar) make it out of a harrowing situation alive. Standish (Reeves) is also rescued by Lamb, but Sean Donovan (Sope Dirisu) dies in pursuit of the file that may well have damaged the British secret services. It shows evidence of serious wrongdoing, including that they killed one of their own for leaking serious intel.
In the same interview, Smith also teased which storylines to expect. He revealed that Standish and Lamb won't be at odds for long, addressing a potential romance between River and Louisa. Slow Horses season 4 has the Mick Herron book Spook Streetto adapt. But it's clear that the series, one of the notable Apple TV+ hits, has carved its own path and won't be gone for too long.
All episodes of Slow Horses are on Apple TV+.

Someone has Top Gun Mavrick playing in the rec room of this hotel. I am keeping an eye on it. It looks like one of those movies that plays like a 2 hour trailer. The typical catchy trailer music going in every other scene. I like fighter jets but the movie looks too dumbed down to enjoy. It's just too shallow.
