Vince Vaghan is a baaad muthafucka
A former boxer named Bradley loses his job as an auto mechanic, and his troubled marriage is about to expire. At this crossroads in his life, he feels that he has no better option than to work for an old buddy as a drug courier. This improves his situation until the terrible day that he finds himself in a gunfight between a group of police officers and his own ruthless allies. When the smoke clears, Bradley is badly hurt and thrown in prison, where his enemies force him to commit acts of violence that turn the place into a savage battleground.
^^Makes a change from the usual rom-com dreck he appears in.
Watched this last night on Kodi The Foreigner , Jackie chans daughter gets killed in an IRA bomb blast in London and Jackie goes after the killers , pierce Brosnan plays an Irish Deputy prime minister who is in charge of the IRA and who Jackie Chan is planting bombs in his office and home , I enjoyed it not bad 6/10 .
The Foreigner, starring Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan, is a timely action thriller from the director of Casino Royale. The film tells the story of humble London businessman Quan (Chan), whose long-buried past erupts in a revenge-fueled vendetta when the only person left for him to love -- his teenage daughter -- is taken from him in a senseless act of politically-motivated terrorism. In his relentless search for the identity of the terrorists, Quan is forced into a cat-and-mouse conflict with a British government official (Brosnan), whose own past may hold clues to the identities of the elusive killers.
Original Score: 3/4
Chan ... remains a likeable everyman hero type that the audience roots as he navigates his world through a labyrinth of violence and betrayal.

^I think was his attempt at something totally new, as a teetotal nationalist who can 'look after himself'
He breaks a lot of bones (not his)
Speaking of Fargo...There is a very good Fargo series based on the film...Billy Bob Thornton is a key performer, as well as Molly, the Deputy Sheriff (Allison Tolman)...Wonderful acting...Well worth a watch...
********
Fargo is an American black comedy–crime drama anthology television series created and primarily written by Noah Hawley. The show is inspired by the eponymous 1996 film written and directed by the Coen brothers, who serve as executive producers on the series alongside Hawley.
The series premiered on April 15, 2014, on FX, and follows an anthology format, with each season set in a different era, and with a different story and mostly new characters and cast, although there is minor overlap. Each season shares a common chronology with the original film.
The first season, set in 2006 and starring Billy Bob Thornton, Allison Tolman, Colin Hanks, and Martin Freeman, was met with critical acclaim.
It won the Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Miniseries, Outstanding Directing, and Outstanding Casting, and received 15 additional nominations including Outstanding Writing, another Outstanding Directing nomination, and acting nominations for all four leads. It also won the Golden Globe Awards for Best Miniseries or Television Film and Best Actor – Miniseries or Television Film for Thornton.
harry, you're up on this stuff...do you know anything about a new series about a bunch of Italian American mobsters? I think it's called 'The High Notes' or something.
Autopsy of Jane Doe.
Not bad for entertaining a Thai female who's bored of Thai ghost films but l had the plot sussed a few minutes after the end credits
It was 'The Sopranos'. I was parodying Baitong Boy's post.

Fooking coonts...High Notes, indeed...And the fools fell for it...
Maudie (2016).
Not really my type of film, but started watching it and got hooked watching an absolutely extraordinary performance by actress Sally Hawkins in the lead role.
Its a biopic of Canadian artist Maud Lewis, initially betrayed by her family and treated with casual cruelty by society due to her arthritis and eccentric personality.
She leaves home to set up as a live-in maid for an itinerant fish-peddler (Ethan Hawke). Treated lower than his livestock, and abused physically and mentally, this is hardly the "romantic" story that the blurb and mawkish background music (which is actually fucking annoying, tbh) would try suggest.
Despite all her hardships, Maud perseveres with her love of painting despite increasing arthritis creeping into her joints. This is where Hawkin's performance is moving and truly stellar, portraying a woman physically handicapped, but still maintaining a warmth and upbeat personality as bright as her paintings.
My missus enjoyed watching it, twice so far. Cried her eyes out, so some Brownie points with this film.
Film itself only a 7/10 for me, but Hawkins really is excellent.

Leather Face 2017
Excellent gore movie. Blood guts and filth from start to finish. Chain saws, Chain saws and more blood than a blue Fillet steak. Surprisingly the kidnapped nurse's honour remains intact at least
"A teenage Leatherface escapes from a mental hospital with three other inmates, kidnapping a young nurse and taking her on a road trip from hell, while being pursued by a lawman out for revenge."
