Jason Statham might one day deliver the performance of a lifetime in a brilliant original movie..
Until then he'll just be a 'lovable rogue' character in generic action movies. Seems a long way from "Snatch" and "Lock, Stock.."

Whether he doesn't have the acting range (probable) or is just so hopelessly typecast he needs a bigname director to take a massive punt on him is up for grabs.
It doesn't help that in between decent shots he does terrible fillers like the 3rd transporter or crash sequels which seem to be nothing more than a rich daddy getting his girl into a movie.

Mind you, before Pulp Fiction we all thought Travolta was a joke. I remember everybody in the cinema cheering when he got shot at the start of the movie. By the end of it he was a changed man and the new word in cool..

That's a good score from me. Only bettered by more a richly produced film or intriguing storyline.

he is a retard and a terrible actor, at par with Silvester Stallone

if he could have delivered that performance, it would have happened already

he is a big fucking joke, perfect to play small time player chavs

^I agree he isn't a great actor, but he seems to be in demand. He probably gets 2-5Million per movie too.

    He must hate himself.

'Jay and Silent Bob Get Old', which is a concert-footage film of Kevin Smith (director of 'Clerks', 'Chasing Amy', 'Dogma' et al) and Jason Mewes reprising their onscreen characters at the Hammersmith-Appolo Theater in London (which was packed- the Limeys LOVE these guys).

In a nutshell, it was awful- embarrassingly, unwatchably awful- I couldn't make it to the end- stupid, pointless, rambling stories with crude commentary tossed in to add... well, I'm not sure what- it was stupidly gratuitous, and Mewes came off as retarded in life as his character is on screen (without the humor).

2 out of 10- I chuckled maybe twice (as did the audience- they were silent for most of what was supposed to be a comedy performance).
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

It's a live recording of their podcast isn't it? If you weren't expecting that I can see how you'd be disappointed. I listened to a few of them last year and while it was amusing to start with it's the same stories over and over. The podcast they do gets massive figures. I'm not surprised it sold out given that it sells out week after week month after month in the states.

It was billed as a live show- it may have been a recreation of a podcast, but that's not an excuse for how much it sucked. I like the characters and I enjoy the movies, and I had high hopes, but it was just terrible.

    The Bourne Legacy

Surprisingly good. Usual hokum about spies trying to cover things up but a good action movie, much better than the other Bourne movies.

^^^A weak plot, limited fear, wonderful shots if idiotic behaviour. Not a patch on the first 2.

The Midget enjoyed which means I did too. 6.5/10.

Oh, Will Smith still looks 21.

    Boring Bogon fact #288

The bad guy in MIB III is the New Zealand bloke from Flight of the Conchords.
I thought it was Hugh Lawrie for 1/2 the film, so I had to stop and Google.

    Jermaine Clement in the flesh...

and in the film looking like Hugh Lawrie...

    Black diamonds? I shit 'em.

"A mute woman along with her young daughter, and her prized piano, are sent to 1850s New Zealand for an arranged marriage to a wealthy landowner, and she's soon lusted after by a local worker on the plantation"

For utterly, absolutely, totally, deadly boring crap, it was right up there with Academy Award winner "Lonliness of the Long Distance Runner". It's one of those films that pseudo-intellectuals and faggy art buffs like to blather on and on about at trendy studio openings, and then condemn anyone who doesn't agree that it was the greatest movie ever as a boorish Neanderthal. Same kind of folks who make it a point of leaving "Wine Weekly" magazines on their coffee tables.

Yeah, stick with your Batman/Spiderman classics before you start slagging off an innoculous post of mine.
I wasn't CONDEMMING anyone who did not like the film, something got lost in translation to a superior intelligence as yourself.

^No shot at you was intended. Lots of people liked it, obviously. I didn't. There was no intent to slag off your post. This is a movie thread, in which people comment on movies, and whether they liked them or not, and why.
