I am not overly critical of movies but in this case, I may have been overly generous in overlooking just how bad the film was.... and where the heck did Mike Tyson come from. I did like the reference to the Mike Tyson tattoo... what ever, waste of time and money as I said in original post.
Mike Tyson was in "The Hangover".

    The Deadly Affair - 1967

A British agent sets out to uncover the hidden facts behind a British government employee's suicide.

Another Sidney Lumet film. Based on a John le Carré novel. A stylish, leisurely paced spy thriller. Highlights include a stellar cast (James Mason makes everything look good), groovy bossa-nova soundtrack, and some interesting visuals of 60's London, including this shot of London's MoChit station

I found it highly entertaining, 8 out of 10.

Not a movie, but when I was in the US, I watched a great Masterpiece Theatre collection called "Foyle's War", about a police detective in England during the early years of WWII. Fantastic! I wish we could get pirated Masterpiece Theatre dvd's here, but they appear to be far too intellectual for the public. Unfortunately, I returned to the Philippines only halfway through the series, and the dvd's are US/Canada only.

If it's the same as this one Foyle's War - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Then all 7 series are available to download as torrents.

^That's it, MtD. Thanks. I have never bothered to download torrents, as DVD's here are good quality and about $1. But, if I can get Masterpiece Theatre, I am going to give it a try.

    Four Lions

Great comedy taking the piss out of a home-grown terror cell in the UK. Done by Chris Morris who was behind controversial comedy series Brass Eye.

    Waj: We'll blow something up.
Omar: What we gonna blow up Waj?
    Waj: Internet.

    IMDB summary:
Four Lions tells the story of a group of British jihadists who push their abstract dreams of glory to the breaking point. As the wheels fly off, and their competing ideologies clash, what emerges is an emotionally engaging (and entirely plausible) farce. In a storm of razor-sharp verbal jousting and large-scale set pieces, Four Lions is a comic tour de force; it shows that-while terrorism is about ideology-it can also be about idiots.

Paul. Watched it last night and enjoyed it, wasn't too many laugh out loud moments but it was consistently funny. Lots of swearing so not so good for kids. 7/10

    Lincoln Lawyer 2011

I was looking forward to seeing Matthew Mcconaughey's performance in this,
was expecting something close to his role in, A time to kill

Which was amazing, instead this movie is probably closer to the truth in the sense
of what its like to be lawyer,With his number one goal being how he can claim
for every expense possible and his 2nd goal running slowly behind, winning the case.
Good cast and generally enjoyable 6/10

    Drive angry 2011

Any cage fans will not be surprised at this little turd.
Once is a while Cage will take time and carefully pick which scripts and job offers
to take, such as Face Off,Leaving Las Vegas,Bangkok dangerous and Snake eyes,

Im guessing ,No, im sure that he did not even open the envelope when this one
    came through the letterbox.
As with the farce that was Ghost Rider this is about a demon back for revenge,
Cage picks up a hot blonde for the journey in saving the world Blah Blah Blah...

If the next cage film you see advertised mentions demons,Motorbikes and the
tag line of the movie is your going to Hell, give it a miss and wait til he has finished
taking these dudd movies on to pay off his latest divorce.

    1/10

    You forgot "Knowing".

I've been looking forward to seeing this as I reckon I've read everything Michael Connelly's published, and Lincoln Lawyer is in IMO his best novel. Are you a Connelly fan/did you read the book? An excellent read.

I'm a Michael Connely fan and I'm surprised none of the film studios have tried to adapt any of the Harry Bosch novels yet. Big untapped market there.

    X-Men: First Class (2011)

things to do on a rainy day

went to see this movie at the cinema, Thai language with no subtitles (except for Thai subtitles for the scenes in German and French) so I won't comment on the quality of the dialogue.

Impressive effects, but they all are these days; story simple enough a prequel to the X-men and Wolverine movies all based on Marvel comics

James McAvoy the main 'good guy' and Kevin Bacon is good as the bad one

Storyline around events after WWII, Kennedy and Cuba and uses real Kennedy footage, reminded me of Watchmen at times. Enjoyable if you like comic-based movies, we got our 90 baht's worth - if you don't like comics then don't go.

    Link to movie trailer
IMDb Video: X-Men: First Class - Trailer #2

A flood of these comic-based movies; Green Hornet and Thor already this year, and Green LAntern due out soon.

What do you get if you cross "the goonies" and "the thing". A crap sci fi movie with a bunch of kids in the main roles. Total waste of what seemed like a very very long time. Others were walking out but I forced the wife to stay till the really crap ending.

Actually I thought it was more Stand By Me meets Cloverfield, but either way it was truly an epic steaming pile of poo. And he did such a good job with the Star Trek movie as well.

    West is west.

A follow up to East is east. A comedy about a Pakistani man married to an English white women. Together they have 3 or 4 kids together (I forget exactly), and Mr Khan also has a wife back in Pakistan.
Whilst the original movie was centred around Salford, near Manchester, and dealt with what its like growing up in a predominantly white area, the second is set in Pakistan, and deals with them all feeling like they dont belong there either.
I thought the first movie was hilarious, so was really looking forward to the second. Whilst I thought that West is west was a good film, it didnt have the same comedic value as the first. I felt it took itself a little too seriously. Still, its worth a watch.
    I`d give it 7.5/10

Yup, Tucker and Dale was good. I watched 'Taken' with Niam Leeson last night.
Should have been titled 'Mistaken' what a pile of cack.. I would give it 5/10 for action but the totally absurd script/outcome means it gets 4/10.
