    Napoleon Dynamite,

Not sure who recommended that one, but I didn't get it. Probably good if you have the silly sense of humor of an American teenage geek and you are still a virgin,

    Frost/Nixon.

very enjoyable, semi documentary style film, following David Frost's rise from talk show host to serious political pundit following Nixon's resignation.
the movie was quite enlightening regarding the massive difficulties frost was up against financially, network disinterest and in the credibility stakes.

a wonderful portrayal of Nixon by Frank Langella.

    highly recommended.

it is a 2 part television movie
I thought it was a reasonable action thriller with out the usual hollywood slant - probably because it was not screenwritten by those tards

    Religulous

absolutely brilliant Bill Maher documentary about the absolute idiocy of religious freaks everywhere.

I loved it.. 2hours long and about the best documentary I have seen in a long while.

    Religulous[2008]DvDrip[Eng]-FXG : Movies > Documentary - Mininova

    a comfortable 10/10

    creationists are serious freaktoids.

i love listening to them eschewing 1000 years of science for christian scripture written in days when science wasn't even a word.

The Punisher - the new one

Not bad for an action movie. Pretty graphic.

7/10 - for pure mindless killing and blood splatter.

have to admit this is my favorite film genre.

Gritty gripping story of a guy in an Aussie prison, and what desperate hunger does to a man.

    True story.

Synecdoche, New York - Phillip Seymour Hoffman Samantha Morton

This is about a theatre director/writer who ends up getting a large grant which he uses to make a reconstruction of New York in a massive warehouse.

This isnt a film for everyone as it seems slow at times and parts of it are very surreal. Its well shot and well acted but its not really for the casual film viewer. I liked it, I think.

another great documentary that shouldn't be missed.

deservedly the winer of the Oscar this year for best documentary.

    Man on Wire.

chronicling the efforts of a French wire walker to cross the twin towers 400 metres off the ground.
    beautiful and emotive stuff.

follows the meticulous planning over several years to the eventual 45 minute, 8 crossing walk on a misty morning in 1976.
the whole thing was of course illegal, just rigging up a wire 200 feet between the towers in the middle of the night was a fete in itself.

    very very highly recommended.

    11/10.

    balls and a half.

how do you contain that sort of adrenalin enough especially after an entire night yanking up the rig folowing an evening of hiding under a tapaulin from the security.

one of the great achievements of our time i reckon.
glad they did this film because i knew nothing about it.
