After my salmon, pea and sprout fishcakes were so well received I thought I'd post up another dinner.
Sausages and mash... and yes, I let myself down a bit on the Ya Dong front last night.
The daughter's been having a couple of minor issues at school lately so I've re-introduced eating up at the (newly refurbished mahogany) dining table for dinner so we can discuss the day's events. This had slipped, and it's working well again.
With plenty of veg. We've had peas and spouts every day since I arrived home, but not in breakfast fruit smoothies.

Will I send up some Bisto to umm, thicken yer gravy?
No need for innuendos, looking at you Dill.
Some time back i bought a load of game meat. Tonight, overnight 1kg of partridge, pheasant, rabbit, grouse and venison game mix paired with celery, carrot, button mushroom, 3/4 bottle of decent Bordeaux, stock, herbs, pepper, a splash of Worcester, a bit of English mustard and pimenton. 6 hours in the slowcooker.
The game defrosted with i suspect a couple of lead shot in there somewhere. Up until my teens it was a regular meal in season.
Why the mix? I surely would have separated the deer out.
I am really fond of mashed potatoes (european potatoes)..with melted Lurpak
Another forum glitz
Here is the guilty one :
The portion sizes of the mashed potatoes are ridiculously small, if not criminal.
Don't troll the dinner thread and your hatred of mashed potatoes is a sin

I believe that all items in Liverpool and Manchester, whatever their value, are tagged (including the flooring and roof cladding) due to the nature of the local environments and cultural behavioural traits of the Scouse-Mancs.
I'll be off now...
Edit to add:
1) Mendip is very likeable, not least due to his cooking level being the same as mine - lacking.
2) Dilly should be commended for his sandwiches; perhaps the finest of English foods, but not that particular salmon and cucumber sandwich...
3) Mash is excellent, and despite the limited amounts on the plate perhaps there was more available in the pan? A presentation of a mash mountain in a bowl alongside the vegetable bowl presentation may have been to much, even for Mendip.

Cycling should be banned!!!
I don't believe what's happening.
Inspired by his Isaan Egg Royale, I'm copying Mendo for this morning's breakie.
And with a tin of toona in the fridge, and a spud growing in the back of some cupboard, I'm gonna be copying him for fookin' lunch as well.
Leave the breadcrumbs as large, or put in the grinder and make them fine like panko?
Why don't we just have an "Inspired by Mendip" thread?
There's a lot of scope, he's a great and variety poster.
^^ Many thanks for the appreciation, Betty.
I've never really considered myself as a culinary trailblazer before. I'm completely self-taught and lack some confidence in the kitchen.
