Thinking square plates are for strange people is for strange people.

I like serving food on wooden chopping boards some times like they do in restaurants, does that mean I'm following fashion and trying to be cool?

Or do you think people who would think like that, spend too much time concerned with what other people like to do, and have an over inflated opinion of the way they do things being the right way?

Experience has taught me that there is usually a correct way of doing something. Eating off square plates is a sign of affectation. People who wear leg warmers eat off square plates. They call each other "darling" and drink Pimms. Just weirdos, that's all.

You are very strange. Eating food off a chopping board shows that you are lazy and disordered in your approach to work in the kitchen. Do you advocate sucking water out of a tap instead of using a glass ? Or, perhaps, is milk to be guzzled from a carton, or marmalade to be licked directly from its jar ?

No, there has to be a sense of decorum which cannot be present in a kitchen which has square plates. Look at the painting of the " Last Supper". Do you see Jesus eating from square plates ? Do you really believe that the Buddha trimmed his banana leaves so as to make them rectangular ?

Square plates are akin to the Devil's platters. Only the ungodly would ever eat from them.

I used to have black, hexagonal plates and wine glasses with black stems which i sort of spruced up with coloured napkins.

White salt and pepper shakers, too.

Good one, Dillinger. My Italian grandparents always made rectangular pizzas in a baking tray. In the Niagara region, many of the real Italian pizzarias made their pizza this way too. You don't really see it anymore. Shame.
