Inspired by charleyboys super pie efforts I decided to have a go at the pies.
The Pastry worked out ok (rough puff), the filling was basically stew. Tasted ok but till having troble with the gravey.
It was a bit thick this time.
Anyway, froze three for future reference,
I also underestimated the size of my pie dishes and ended up with 2 bloody great big pies and big pies rather than the single serving aussie size pie i was hoping for.
    Next time.

What scrumptious looking pies you have. If I could make a decent pastry I'd try.

Ditto. Tried twice for two dismal failures, hats off to the guys who can put a good pastry together and make their own pies. The ones in this thread look great!.

I don't do frozen pastry as it'd just taste like one I'd buy from a shop

On the other hand you can see the master baker young Charles on here his pies look delicious on the outside and when opened up look nice and light

TBH , I,m not much of a pie lover but I would like to ba able to make a decent apple pie as the misses loves em

I just made this for a starter. The sauce was so good, I had another one!

On tonight's menu: Chimi Churri roast beef with an organic salad. The recipe is from Masterchef Australia. They use steak and say to marinate them for 4 hours, but I had a roast and I marinated it overnight.

Sure that was nice Nigel but for me lambs liver is the one thinly sliced floured and fried with onions.

Never eaten chicken liver in the U.K but do have a bit bbq style with papaya salad.

My wife does a similar dish to that but uses chicken or pork meat.

They had some nice fresh brussel sprouts and new potatoes in Tops so I made some honey & mustard crusty chicken with some roast peppers and carrots and saved some of the honey/mustard for a dip.

It's those 2 massive green things on the right.

They were quite open leafed unlike the British Standard version.

    Oh I see

Mate even with my imagination and artistic licence there is no way on this planet that is anything to do with brussell sprouts mate ,, well hold on a minute ,,, it might just be the green leafs from the sprout tops , sometimes sold as a veg

Did you know that in the south of the U.S. that's what they call collared greens.

Here ya go you bunch of penises!

It's just an oversized, leafy brussel sprout. They came un-wrapped a bit when I steamed them.

It even says it on the packet. They are "Extra Special" Brussel Sprouts. That means they're posh.

Cause he was concentrating on his ¦ extra special ¦ sprouts .. which are only marked as being : special :

Anyway that pic of the sprouts has nothing to do with the cabbage on his plate

They're caramelised. Anyway, ape child, how often do you cook with all your servants and stuff?
