^ I sent him a red too, Nige - just for being an iPhone owning Coooooont...
Yeah I know ,, I thought he was one of me mates on here
Christ its enough with Pinky + Perky on me case let alone me old Mukka Chas
Ok I accept perhaps I have let my normally very high cuisine standards slip a little lately , so to make amends I have pulled out all the stops tonight .
I went out and sourced locally grown beef to mince up , locally grown organic chillies , fresh tomato puree made from organic toms from my garden , sourced some locally grown rice ( Portugese )
Jobs a goo dun
I'm proud of my 38" waist , also proud I have never done drugs
^^ As soon as he got that iPhone 4 and joined Facetime, he was a changed man...
^ Nige, I don't know how to say this, errrm, much of your food looks very nice, but that last one is not your best effort, imho.
Struck lucky today , when I walked in the works tea hut this morning I spotted a 20p on the floor , and being the honest person I am went around all the motley crew to see if anyone had lost it .
No one claimed it so I splashed out on some cream on the way home to go with my delicious apple cake
Look at that little beauty
I won't go the route questioning why it's "Single Cream", though I would have thought the packet would have been bigger, knowing the manliness of Brits...
Single cream ,, mate means its awailable
Cow Pat guy!
All fresh ingredients, especially the chicken
Funny looking guy mate ,, looks more like it belongs in the goong family .
What was the main course ?
^Tasted alright
Tonight's MEGA garlic cheese burger for under a £
No picture of the finished masterpiece as it was eaten quickly,
Nice one triple chang mate ,, gonna have to pay Morrisons a visit soon , trouble is its a 10 min car ride from mine , so your talking £1 on petrol
Nice to see a bit of thrift in these times of austerity
Visit an hour before they close!
It will be worth the £1 in petrol.
You'll be able to fill your freezer with bread, donuts, meat and fish.
Be prepared for war though, lot's of others are joining the thrifty club.
I could have had 10 x 1 foot sausages for 90 pence the other week! I ended up splitting the haul with a little old lady with a ferocious looking hand bag
Yeah be careful could have been TheGent working under an aliasOriginally Posted by Chittychangchang

Peoples shopping habits are changing .
Its a bit here and a bit there bought on various days of the week as opposed to the Friday or Saturday shop
Having said that I still have mates at work in younger generations who have no idea about thrift or cooking and are spending fortunes on ready meal style food + disposable nappies , I have always grown a lot of my own veg and still do , they don't have time , apparently they are busy on F/B etc , we also had a washing line full of Terry nappies back in the day
There should be a new thread just for poor people - Eating on a shoestring.
The Scavenger Thread sounds apt
It's not scavenging. It's being frugal!!
My first effort here, out the bush over a campfire,4big lamb chops off a kiwi war bride,
been marinated with rosemary and pepper, low heat fried with butter .and mashed potato
and sweet potato mixed together and fresh mushroom sauce with a bottle of coopers stout,a kelpie liked the bones.
