Yes they are Chow Mein, a very old American classic meal, that does come in a can.

I saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand
Walking through the streets of Soho in the rain
He was looking for the place called Lee Ho Fook's
Gonna get a big dish of beef chow mein

Cheers, AO.
Chow Mein | RecipeTin Eats
The thing that distinguishes Chow Mein from other stir fried noodles are the type of noodles used. Chow Mein noodles are thin crinkly looking noodles that are lightly coated in flour.
Pics in the link.
I don't mind the odd chicken chow mein and snubby's things certainly don't look like chow mein noodles from that picture he put up.

Well, certainly not in the Chinese sense of the word anyway.

Oh FFS it is a salad with crunchy chow mein noodles in it. What the fuck is so hard to understand about that.
That is because you are utterly fucking clueless. Every Chinese place in the states has their own take on Chow mein just like every grandmothers goulash is different.
Oh do fuck off Hal you tedious bastard. It is American Chinese food it is not authentic Chinese there is a difference, and you are utterly clueless about it as I previously stated.
My post wasn't even about fucking Chinese food it was about ribs FFS, what bunch of tedious wankers.

i can only assume the chef improvised when he'd run out of croutons
this issue would not have happened if you'd have sent it back in the first place.
American Chinese food. No wonder it's topped with children's party snacks.
Still, after a morning on the municipal garbage truck it mightn't have smelled too bad.
Oh, Eddie, the runt is here. Life must be hard when you have to look up at Thais.

The debate goes both ways edtard and friends.
British '''Chinese Food''' Is Shocking Americans — Here'''s Why
As it turns out, British Chinese takeout is surprisingly different from the stuff that's common in America, and it's left a large swath of the internet feeling rather heated.
Skiddy is allegedly in the Philippines perhaps he can update on the philippine version of chowmein, pancit canton. It's as ubiquitous as adobo on every menu . In fact there's no getting away from it. It's OK.though.
Quite a bit of bandwidth used on some "noodles".
Couldn't remember what they reminded me of, but.........
That's it
