They enjoyed theirs, I enjoyed mine.

I forgot to get a lemon while I was in the shop...

More or less, I was too busy enjoying my proper fish n chips. The secret to a crunch that lasts, use 3/4 plain flour 1/4 rice flour.

Many many moons ago my father bought one of those French fry presses for my mother as her birthday present. To say my mother was unimpressed would be an understatement. My father couldn't understand why she wasn't over the moon with her present.

All I could do was laugh. I still remember the incident 50 years later

I think the dark stuff (probably dark green) is mint jelly. Yellow looks like English mustard.
