Science Name : Pangasius sanitwongsei
General Characteristics : Chao Phraya Giant Catfish is a freshwater in of group having no scales or naked type. It is in the same family with Siriped Catfish and Black Ear Catfish. The body length can be up to 2.5 meters and weighting is more than 100 kilograms. It is a meat-eating animal that has quite short head but flattening and wide in shape. The unique character is that the first fin ray of each dorsal fin, pectoral fin and pelvic fin is large and runs far beyond that fin, which makes it look dignified while swimming.
Habitat / Food : It is found in Thailand and Indo-China countries. It eats dead animals floating on water. However, young Chao Phraya Giant Catfish likes to stay as a big group and dwell in standing water area andeats aquatic insects and small aquatic animals.
Behavior / Mating : It is peaceful and likes to stay as a group. Normally, it swims all the time.
