Bangsaen Returns To The Disco 80s In Retro Fest
This year’s “Bangsaen Retro Festival 2012” will bring everyone back to their swinging “disco” days in 80s, and fill the retro air with fancy dancing and fun activities. The event is being held Oct. 5-6, from 5 p.m. to midnight.
BANGSAEN – October 5, 2012 [PDN]: The annual “Bangsaen Retro Festival 2012” kicked off with an opening ceremony on the multipurpose platform in Lamptan, Chonburi.
Opening the ceremony were Chonburi governor Mr. Komsan Ekachai, and Mr. Sonthaya Khunpluem, the former minister of the Tourism and Sports Ministry.
This is the fourth annual Bangsaen festival, and organizers expect many tourist visitors.
Festival hours are from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m., and the event is free and open to the public.
Mr. Sonthaya Khunpluem said this year’s festival features a different concept from last year, and the retro fashion “Disco” theme so popular in the 1980s will trigger happy memories for some.
More than nostalgia though, the event it will be fun and exciting, as participants dance to the rhythm of 80s songs.
Among the many other featured activities are a retro Thai group dance, and a retro cars display.
Numerous food and beverage stalls are also set up along the 1 km beach.
