    Bali Hai Pier - Pattaya

Bali Hai Pier is at the southern most part of Pattaya Beach, most of it is enroached by the 101 busineses on Walking Street that should have been demolished years ago but are willing to give loads of money to bribe their way out of being demolished, for at least the last 10 years every new mayor has promised to demolish all these rubbish buildings, they go and have a look at them, then tell everyone they will be demolished, then they some how forget to demolish them, whether they are demolished or not it will not improve Pattaya in anyway at all, well apart from less turds going into the sea from the restaurant dinners there.

Bali Hai pier is the area for the Thais to get their boats into the water, there are only 3 reasons a farang would go there.
1; Get the ferry to Koh Larn. A Trip To Koh Larn
    2; Take some dumb pictures.
3; Jump off the pier and see whether you drown or just die from all the toxic waste in the sea there.

    The ferry times from Bali Hai Pier, Pattaya to Na Ban, Koh Larn;

    7.00am
    10.00am
    12.00am
2.00pm *not in service at the moment*
    3.30pm
    5.00pm
    6.30pm

    The ferry times from Koh Larn, Na Ban to Bali Hai, Pattaya;

    6.30am
    7.30am
    9.30am
    12.00am
    2.00pm
    5.00pm
    6.00pm

Obviously I went and took some dumb pictures to save anyone else the bother of going there.

New multi-story car park plans for the Bali Hai Port.
Khun Niran, the Mayor of Pattaya chaired this meeting to discuss the lack of car parking spaces for those that frequent the south pattaya area including Walking Street at night. Plans are now under consideration to construct a multi-story car park in front of the Bali Hai Port. Companies are now being contacted to come up with plans for the car park and the best design and costing structure will win the contract. When the car park is completed this should provide up to 300 new car parking spaces only meters away from the Southern entrance to Walking Street.

Is it time to go to bed when you misread the title as 'Bali hair pie'?

Well in Pattaya's quest to be on par with Hollywood they have stuck up a sign on the hills overlooking Bali Hai Pier.

It will be good for gogo bars like hooters and that which are at that end of Walking Street, got to admit if I am going to Walking Street I wouldn't take my car as there is no where near there to park, even with the bike it is a bit of a pain to find parking on the weekends.

Someone should check out the wiring of the new lights on that pier. There are connections made with black insulating tape with thin wire pulled through holes roughly drilled in the concrete. (there was no planning for this) A man was electrocuted there a few days ago!!! He had gone down at night for a piss. His friend found him in convulsions. I have no cameras so could someone alse take a few close-up photos and show them as a warning for others. EVERY light fitting has the same crap fittings.

should be easy enough not to tamper with stray wires but point made, most of us like to get home sometime after we leave.

Well it's not that bad at the old Bali Hai Pier, although taking a piss there will probably kill you as it did that chap a few weeks ago, these cable joins are just above knee height and it seems most of the joins have been pulled into the yellow plastic conduit, not that that would be much help if you was pissing there, but at present the only people that have been electrocuted are Thais, maybe they should learn not to piss out in the open at tourist attractions

I have seen loads of adverts for this all new and shiny Bali Hai Plaza, from the adverts it sounds like it is going to be a major shopping mall, got to admit I was a bit disappointed as it's just a small place.

The rear entrance to Pattaya Walking Street, looks better in the daytime as you can't see that most of the lit up sign doesn't work.

Here are the offices for the Pattaya submarine place where you can book your submarine ride.

I enjoy the new park on that hill. Very nice.

As for Walking Street parking, try the Marine Hotel (20baht) or next to Secrets on Soi 14, also 20baht.(motorcycle)

    cheers.

    Pattaya to Koh Larn

Well if your still reading this thread you are either really thinking of going to Koh Larn or are just bored out of your mind.

The ferrys to Koh Larn are lacking in life jackets, I suppose thats one way of keeping the costs down, this one actually had 4 life belts on it, for 100 odd passengers if the boat capsizes make sure you grab one and get well away from the drowning people, they won't be asking nicely if they can share it

Note the motorbike, it costs 100baht each way if you want to take your bike over to Koh Larn.

The speedboats like messing around and pretending they are going to crash into you, makes for good photos, be a bit of a tradegy if they get it wrong oneday though.

They also got submarines that take you from Pattaya to the Islands, these let you see all the coral, to make it a better experience one of their employees was recently arrested for stealing coral from one part of the seabed to put in the part the submarine takes the tourists to.

You can read about it here. (Pattaya Koh Larn coral theft intrigue)

You can book rides at their office which is across the road from the pier by the back entrance to Walking Street, its the big blue building.

Jeez... I never thought that Yellow Submarine thing actually existed.. Seen signs for it all over town but I thought they were old and from a failed venture from some crackpot with too much money to waste...

How many life rings does the sub carry?

    Pattaya Bay Boat Seafood Restaurants

Obviously with Pattaya being a major beach resort they have quite a few restaurants on the sea in boats, these are mainly seafood which I doubt is actually caught in Pattaya.

    The Oriental Star Seafood Restaurant.

    The Oriental Princess Seafood Restaurant.

    The Dolphin Seafood Restaurant.

And then there is this one that unless your extremely rich or beautiful you wont get onto, the F Diamond Fashion TV ship, only for the rich, famous, or shaggable
