From Chiangmai?
My wife is unexcited by my Maldives idea of a holiday, she wants to see snow and try skiing.
Do they have skii resorts in China.
When I lived in Turkey, you could nip over to Bulgaria and skii waaay cheap.

i've skiid in korea, had snow in feb but was towards the end of the season. dont recall exact prices, but we stayed in Seoul and you can take free busses up to the various mountains each morning.
(perhaps each day worked out to $50 or 60 for ski and clothing hire and lift tickets....)
China has some pretty good options opening up these days also... will post it later when i find the relevant articles that i have (Action Asia magazine - great stuff)
have heard abt Japan also - but have not skiid there my self
Just a thought, how about Kashmir ?

Korea Travel: Ski Resorts in Korea
I tried to arrange a skiing trip to Korea about 6-7 years back, but eventually gave up. The Korean turist office in Bangkok was rather unhelpful, e-mails and faxes to the resports went largely unanswered and when I tried calling, I never found anyone who coudl speak English, and the one place that did reply only offered me a luxury suite for 250 US$ a day, even thought I had explained that I was travelling alone. Nobody was able to tell me how to get from Seoul Airport to Muju. I may try again in a year or two, if things have improved.
From what I have heard, though - Muju is supposed to be good. Wonder if anyone does Telemark there?

Just tell her they have skiing in the Maldives, then when you get there pay the hotel staff to tell her it has just melted![]()

methinks if she just wants to see snow and try skiing, you do not necesarrily want to pay for a package tour to the snow, hence my seoul suggestion, stay a week there, plenty of things to do, and u have the option of going up the the snow for a day or two if u feel like...
CMN - i thought you were coming to singapore?
you can bring your wife to visit Snow City SnowCity Singapore
does this CMn guy EVER do any work?
^
Yes.
lots of it.....the work of a language consultant is both ample and stressful.
I like the look of some of the China packages.
