Ladyboy Involved in Drunk Norwegian Snatch & Grab Theft
Local authorities arrested a ladyboy for the theft of a Bt150,000 gold necklace on Friday morning. The offender had stolen the valued item from an intoxicated Norwegian national in South Pattaya.

Pattaya, the 24th of September 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 5:30am on Friday, Captain Narongdet Tanapoonsilp (Pattaya Deputy Investigator) while on patrol in South Pattaya was notified of a theft perpetrated on a foreign tourist.
The incident occurred at the entrance to Soi 14 in South Pattaya, the perpetrator, now known to be Mr. Somsak Chun Si [28], a local ladyboy.
Mr. Chun Si was reported to have stolen the gold necklace of Mr. Tron Engberg [57], a Norwegian national.
Following a brief chase, Cpt. Tanapoonsilp apprehended the offender in possession of the necklace while he was attempting to flee the scene in front of Soi 17 South Pattaya.
Under interrogation, Mr. Chun Si confessed to the theft, explaining that he had observed Mr. Engberg in a severely intoxicated state walking around South Pattaya.
He stated that he had approached the victim pretending to help him before taking the necklace and fleeing the area.

Mr. Engberg thanked police for their fast response to his situation, praising them for returning the 18-karat gold necklace, valued at Bt150,000.
Mr. Chun Si has now been remanded in police custody awaiting further judicial proceedings.
