Body of man thought to have been shot during Police Drug Sting found in Pattaya

The body of a 25 year of security guard was found in a field close to a Temple in the Huoy Yai area, on the outskirts of Pattaya. Police Lieutenant Colonel Sanae was assigned to the case and inspected the body of Khun Bantern who was known to work as a Security Guard at a local Winery.

It is thought he had been dead for at least 5 days, according to a forensic doctor who was also called to the scene.

The Mother of the deceased man, Khun Sinuan aged 49 was called to the scene and confirmed the body was that of her son.

She revealed that her son had disappeared on Sunday Night.

Two days ago she had received a call from a man that claimed her son was okay.

The unknown man then turned-off his mobile phone.

A missing person report was made at the local Police Station and an investigation began.

On Sunday Night in the same location where the body was found a Police Unit from outside of the area were conducting a covert drug operation and it was found out by local Police that shots had been fired by Police during the operation.

Police suspect the man may have been involved in the drug operation and may have been shot at the time.

A full Police Investigation has now begun to determine what happened on Sunday Night and if the man was indeed killed by undercover Police.
