Two attacks by men on motorcycles in Bang Lamung district left a teenager dead and two security guards brutally beaten.

A 14-year-old boy called "Kwan" or "Sam" was beaten to death and two security guards stationed at two residential sites were injured in the attacks.

Police suspect the victims were set upon by the same gang as the two incidents occurred just 500 metres apart.

They suspect the attackers were former guards who had been sacked. The assaults were probably retaliation for their dismissals.

The boy was found dead lying on his back and soaked in blood while security guard Phrom Yimpradit, 50, sustained cuts to the head and suffered a broken arm, Bang Lamung police said.

The incident occurred at about 1am yesterday when a gang of four young men riding motorcycles stopped at the entrance of a housing village to ask for directions.

Without warning, they struck the boy and guard with wooden sticks, Phrom told police at a hospital.

Phrom said it was his first day at work at Paradise Village 2 housing estate.

The boy was a resident of the estate and was keeping Phrom company while a female guard was stationed at another booth.

A second attack was reported 500 metres away where security guard Sripho Soisakul, 38, was also badly beaten, police said.
Sripho told police there were four attackers who came asking for directions to a house before they began beating him.
