Khao San Road - Just seen a dead body

Well it all happens here on KSR. If this don't make the news I don't know what does. Just had a Thai guy gun down his ex wife and her new lover. Unfortunatly a farang girl has also been hit by a bullet. I don't know how serious her injuries are.

First murder scene I've been to. Very relaxed coppers some smiling and also loads of Thais and Farang trying to get a peak of the poor sods lifeless bodies.

I've never seen so much blood either.

Think there were reporters there so lets see how long until it gets released, give this thread a heads up if gets on the local TV news.

Farang getting shot on the KSR ain't good.

I did have a camera at work but I didn't take it - my violent thread streak has to stop somewhere

I was at the Milperra Biker Massacre (Viking Pub) and that was my first murder scene (Bandidos versus Commancheros).

Will live with me for the rest of my life.

Since I have lived in Thailand I have seen countless dead people (road accidents) and they don't bother me so much anymore unless a child is involved.

I'd never seen a dead body until moving over here. Not gonna say its not upsetting, because it is. Worst one I saw was a couple of chaps lying by the side of the road in between Lamai and Chaweng in Samui. My wife and I discovered them, one guy was dead but the guy who was still just about alive had the motorbike handle go in one side of his thigh and out he other.

i saw a thai guy kicked to death in soi cowboy a few years ago, the police were on the scene before the kicking was over and they just stood back and let the killers run off. it was during the songkran celebrations they have there.

i can still see vividly the faces of the killers and the pulped head of the victim.

very disturbing to see something like that.

I've only seen one dead body in Thailand unless you count the corpses that prop up the bar in Sailor BAr 24 hour happy hour in Pattaya.

    Cheers

Seen a lot and it still upsets me.
Floating in the river at Basrah during the Iraq/Iran war.
Uganda when the Tanzanians went in to tidy up after Idi Amin ( I went in with the Tanzanians to help get the power stations running )
The real upsetting time was in Eritrea/ Danakil area when I was contracted to drill wells and set up refugee camps during the war there ( UNHCR contract)
Every day had to take the truck round and pick up those that did not make it through the night ! _ Not pleasant !

TD's roving reporter with all the news that is news!

Pity you haven't had anything nice to report though....

Some interesting stories about seeing dead bodies there, I take my hat off o those of you that have had to deal with it, I wouldn't like it.

I had a stray dog that was hanging around convulse into death on my driveway one morning recently, I opened the shutters on getting up and just stood there helpless. That was enough for me. Lucklily I had a gardener on hand to deal with the body.

Loy Toy, how did you end up at Milperra that day? Have you a past riding with colours or just unlucky?

    So.....

The Farang (maybe, Swedish) woman that got shot must have been in the tourist area, and the shooting happened not in an apartment but on the street, or in a public place like a restaurant.

Shooter alive? Arrested? Sorry if I missed that in the posts above.

My parents had a house that almost backed onto the Viking car park (Panania North) and that Pub was our local and as kids.

All hell broke loose with gun shots, glass shattering and baseball bats flying and me and a buddy went over the counter, we hid for a while until this bike biker told us to fvck off when the shooting stopped.

What bloody carnage we saw and as we sprinted for the back fence!

I was teaching a reporter for Thai PBS tonight and she had a call to ask her to go to Khao San Road, I think it was around 8:15, as there had been a shooting. She is a criminal investigative reporter and her reaction was that she was having an English lesson and she could not go. Water off a duck's back.

It was interesting to see her reaction but the shit she has to see every day, I told her tonight that I could never do her job. The stories she tells me have to be heard to be believed.

We spoke for the rest of the lesson about how cheap life can be in Thailand. If this shooting did not happen in Kho San Road then it would just be another shooting. We then spoke about the case she had been working on today about a girl that was raped and killed by some thai lad who lived near her in Bangkok. She was a 23 yr old girl in University and this lad had been watching her a lot, followed her home one night, tied a rope around her neck, raped her and killed her.

I was seriously fighting back tears at one point.
