YALA, 21st May 2019 (NNT) - Yala’s authorities have implemented security measures during the Ramadan season in the southern border province by setting up road checkpoints for persons and vehicles to prevent unrest and raise public confidence.


The provincial police of Yala, the army’s 12th Task Force and defense volunteers have set up checkpoints on major roads and in Yala City and are searching people vehicles for any suspicious items, including explosives which might be hidden on board and used to sow unrest during the Ramadan period.


The authorities have stepped up security measures, increased patrols throughout the southern border province and taken precautionary measures during tactical operations as well as checked for weapons, communication gear and arranged reserve power in case of emergency and to enable immediate response to untoward incidents.
