BANGKOK, 11th February 2018 (NNT) – The Department of Internal Trade (DIT) will be holding organic goods trade fairs in Germany this month, aiming to promote Thailand as the hub of organic farming development in the ASEAN.
The DIT Deputy Director-General Suthatsanee Rajruangrabin revealed that the department will hold the Organic Expo – BIOFACH Southeast Asia, and NATURAL EXPO Southeast Asia events on February 14th to 17th, 2018 in Germany, featuring organic products from 22 companies including rice products, products for kids, tea, coffee, and coconut sugar.
The events are aimed to help promote Thai organic products among international clients, and provide a platform for business negotiations with international partners, which will help Thai businesses having more market opportunities. Meanwhile, Thai businesses will be enhanced to learn more about consumers’ desire and international trends.
The events are also aimed to help promote Thailand as a hub for organic farming and organic products expo in the ASEAN.
Thailand now has only a small figure of domestic organic products consumption, but the consumption trend is increasing. The country exports some 2 billion baht worth of organic products each year.
