BANGKOK, 22 February 2016 (NNT) – Officials have called on rubber farmers to quickly register and receive state assistance funds as the program is to close this February 29.
Acting Governor of the Rubbery Authority of Thailand, Chao Song-arwut, has indicated that payments to rubber farmers that began on December 28 2015 will soon come to a close. Out of 850 thousand registered farming households, 662 thousand have so far registered for funds handed out by the state to aid rubber growers and 434 thousand have received the assistance. The project allows for 1,500 baht to be given out per Rai to rubber farmers with a limit of 15 Rai per registered household.
The Rubber Authority has affirmed it will expedite payment to conclude on March 15 but has asked that all eligible farming households register for their assistance by this February 29.
