^Brilliant. Let's see what Prayuth has to say about this. Lie, lie, lie?

Amazing isn't it, that the BIB chief AND Deputy PM would show such defiance and contradict Prayuth. How big is that hole they're digging?
Thanks for that little gem of info...I got confused with the it wasn't them, it can't be a Thai, it was them cycle that unfolded earlier. That confusion coincided with the no rape, no DNA; two samples of semen; male and female semen; DNA match confusion.Quote:

Thai beach murders: British police head to Thailand to investigate backpacker deaths - World - News - London Evening Standard
Quote:
The suspects, named in reports as 21-year-old bar workers Zaw Lin and Win Zaw Htun, were charged with three offences - conspiracy to murder, conspiracy to rape and robbery.
So which bar did they work in ?
how far from the murder spot?
were they working that night ?
^It doesn't really matter seeing how certain people of interest have evaded DNA testing and awkward questions.
Until the BIB clear that up this fiasco will keep walking in muddy water.
^Indeed bro, everyone should be equal in the eyes of the law...
Alas, what should and what is, are vastly different animals in the 3rd dimension that is Thailand.
Seems every day there has been some jaw-dropping news on the Koh Tao murders. I wonder what today will bring.
The travel advice section on the UK gov website has been updated, strong opening paragraphs.
http://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-adv...afety-security
Let's start with this guy.
From CSI LA 90210
The question Mr. Prachum Ruangtong (police officer on Koh Tao) must answer
1. Why did you let Mr. Mon go inside of the crime scene?
2. Why did you let Sean's go?
3. What is your relationship between You and Tuvichian Family?

I suppose that bit about the dangers of the "Samui archipelago" could be removed or watered down, depending on the level of full and frank disclosure given to the British police observers.Quote:

PM denies UK role in murder case | Bangkok Post: news
Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has denied media reports that he will allow British police to participate in the investigation into the murder of two UK tourists on Koh Tao last month. Speaking at Suvarnabhumi airport after returning from the 10th Asia-Europe Meeting (Asem) in Milan, Gen Prayut said the British government will send a team of observers to follow progress in the investigation...
OT but certainly interesting from the same report;
Gen Prayut also countered reports and photos of protests against him while he attended the Asem meeting in Milan. He said he did not see any protests at the meeting. "Such pictures could be taken anywhere...
and posted [on social media]. I don't know where the protests took place, but I didn't see them. They might have held up the placards outside their houses and taken photos," he said....

Exactly what was agreed to is not clear. It would be more than unusual for any country to hand over control of a criminal investigation to members of a foreign police force.
What I read in the early releases of this startling news was that British police would be authorized to "assist". That has now changed to "observe". How much has been lost in translation or creative reporting is yet to be seen, but personally I never thought the UK would be able to do much of anything in view of their own (FCO) stated policy concerning the handling of such matters in Thailand.
Despite all the wishful thinking about teams of brilliant detectives in tweeds and deerstalker hats descending on Koh Tao, I've got a feeling this is going to end like a damp squib.
Diplomatically, all the T's will be crossed and the I's dotted, because of the attendance of UK police observers, but if anyone seriously thinks the BIB will give up the goods and fall on their own swords, there will almost certainly be a lot of disappointment in store.
Like most everybody else who has followed this case, I'm hoping for some kind of startling revelations by Dixon of Dock Green and company, but knowing Thailand and how things work here , I can't help feeling that this is without doubt another case of, hope for the best, but prepare for the worst....
When it comes to subterfuge and obfuscation, I suspect the Thai police have few rivals. I would love to be proved wrong in this case.
^ That would need a level of proficiency which they clearly do not have. The ineptness at a convincing cover-up is stunning in its transparency.
Fair point, but it's still easy for them to screw people over if they are not familiar with Thai norms. From a Thai point of view, telling porkies and being duplicitous is so normal that they do it in a way that seems entirely natural and believable. Anyone not used to, or aware of that can easily be fooled.Quote:

I hope the Brit's bring their own translator so at least they can 'observe' and then understand what a total load of bollox the BIB are spouting.
I doubt that experienced British police are still naive, but the language barrier could be a frustration. It will certainly be interesting to see if the Thai BIB can put one over on them.
I would like answers to the following questions..comment from CSI la
1. Why police let Mr. Mon go inside of the crime scene area?
2. Mr. Mon attempts to damage the evidences? Mr. Mon and Police in Ko tao are close friends. Make sure that police are not help the real murderers and find the scapegoats.
3. The wound from David and Hannah are not exactly the same but police said they were killed from the same weapon. "only the HOE"
4. The translator in this crime is a Rohingya man, he sells kind of food in front of the temple. Why police lets a seller becomes a translator in the big crime like this.
Moreover, when he was interviewed, he said the weapon that murderers used to kill the victims was " bottle of WINE" and hoe . It's very strange why police never talk about bottle of wine and why they can't find it as the evidence.
5. Why both of Burmese guys have to test DNA 2 times? The first time police cant find the result?
6. If 2 Burmese guys are the murderers, why they don't have any wound? David is tall around 190 centimeter compare to 2 Burmeses, they are very shorter than David.
7. If two Burmese guys are the murders, why they do not escape? On the other hands, there are somebody else who escape from Ko Tao.
8. The suspected person is son of Ac bar. According to CCTV, people try to compare a lot, we find out that son of Ac bar is the most similar to a man in CCTV, in other word it's exactly the same.
9. If a son of Ac bar is innocent, why he afraid to test DNA?? or why Thai police don't ask him to test DND to be clear? They are scared of the TRUTH?
10. Son of Ac bar attempts to prove his innocent by showing the capture picture of CCTV that he appeared in his apartment in Bangkok. He would like to prove that he did not stay in Ko Tao on that day.
The things that people are wondering are; in the picture shows unusual of pic of CCTV such as we find out the different front of number. We find out the different color of number. It likes this picture was edited the date. After people doubt a lot about this pic, he shows other pic again. The more he shows the more we find the unusual things, such as the time that he walks, it’s quite impossible and the furniture in the apartment. People who currently stay in this apartment take picture of the location and we find out the table in the pic of “Nomsod” and “the CSI in that apartment has different design of table.
Thus, we are thinking “Nomsod” might use old picture and change the date of picture.
The other wonder is why he doesn’t show the CCTV that he is moving, why just a capture picture?
11. Why the CCTV in Ko Tao has been deleted some part??** Probably the important information that show the True is over there. They try to hind the TRUE?
**12. Sean Mcanna has the same wound as Devid. Probably they were injured by the same weapon?
On that day, people see Sean covered by blood and his guitar covered by blood as well. The question is hose blood? Sean or Devid? Somebody in Ko Tao also helped Sean to clean blood.
Sean has posted that the mafia in Ko tao asked Sean to hang himself, that why Sean escaped from Ko Tao as soon as possible to save his life. Sean also posted many things that show he knows what’s happened but he is too scared to tell the true directly. Based on his message we can suggest that he would like to tell the truth but he just can’t….
The question is why police let Sean's go very easily as he is the important key?
The process that Thai police investigate in this crime is also extremely not clear. Many things are AMBIGUOS.
The Tour agents don't put that lot in the glossy brochures....
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) advise against all but essential travel to the provinces of Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat and Songkhla on the Thai-Malaysia border. On 10 April 2014 the Australian authorities indicated that extremists might be planning to target westerners in the southern border provinces. See Terrorism
The FCO advise against all travel to the Preah Vihear (Khaoi Pra Viharn in Thai) temple area and the Ta Krabey/Ta Moan temple area located on the Thai-Cambodian border due to the presence of troops in the area and the risk of outbreaks of fighting. See Cambodian border
Over 800,000 British nationals visit Thailand every year. Most visits are trouble-free, but there have been attacks (sometimes violent), particularly on the islands of Samui archipelago. Two British nationals were killed on 15 September 2014 on the island of Koh Tao in the Gulf of Thailand. See Crime
On 22 May the military took control of government. Martial law is in place and provides an enabling framework for the Royal Thai Army to take action it deems necessary to enforce law and order. Before the military coup there were large-scale demonstrations and protests in Bangkok and other cities. Some of these were violent. You should avoid any protests, political gatherings, demonstrations or marches.
A number of media outlets have been taken off air and some internet sites remain blocked. It’s illegal to criticise the coup and you should be wary of making political statements in public. You should monitor local news and social media for developments.
Before travelling to Thailand check with your insurance provider that they will continue to cover for claims arising from the current political situation. Some travel insurance policies exclude cover following a military coup or the imposition of martial law, and your insurance may be invalid.
