There are no facts to back up your claim that melting glaciers are responsible for the increased CO2 in the atmosphere. It's just some nonsense that you made up. Are you a juvenile?

New Research Confirms Global Warming Has Accelerated
A new study of ocean warming has just been published in Geophysical Research Letters by Balmaseda, Trenberth, and Källén (2013). There are several important conclusions which can be drawn from this paper.
Completely contrary to the popular contrarian myth, global warming has accelerated, with more overall global warming in the past 15 years than the prior 15 years. This is because about 90% of overall global warming goes into heating the oceans, and the oceans have been warming dramatically.
As suspected, much of the 'missing heat' Kevin Trenberth previously talked about has been found in the deep oceans. Consistent with the results of Nuccitelli et al. (2012), this study finds that 30% of the ocean warming over the past decade has occurred in the deeper oceans below 700 meters, which they note is unprecedented over at least the past half century.
Some recent studies have concluded based on the slowed global surface warming over the past decade that the sensitivity of the climate to the increased greenhouse effect is somewhat lower than the IPCC best estimate. Those studies are fundamentally flawed because they do not account for the warming of the deep oceans.
The slowed surface air warming over the past decade has lulled many people into a false and unwarranted sense of security.

Figure 1: Ocean Heat Content from 0 to 300 meters (grey), 700 m (blue), and total depth (violet) from ORAS4, as represented by its 5 ensemble members. The time series show monthly anomalies smoothed with a 12-month running mean, with respect to the 1958–1965 base period. Hatching extends over the range of the ensemble members and hence the spread gives a measure of the uncertainty as represented by ORAS4 (which does not cover all sources of uncertainty). The vertical colored bars indicate a two year interval following the volcanic eruptions with a 6 month lead (owing to the 12-month running mean), and the 1997–98 El Niño event again with 6 months on either side. On lower right, the linear slope for a set of global heating rates (W/m2) is given.
Global Warming Wake Up Call
Perhaps the most important result of this paper is the confirmation that while many people wrongly believe global warming has stalled over the past 10–15 years, in reality that period is "the most sustained warming trend" in the past half century. Global warming has not paused, it has accelerated.
The paper is also a significant step in resolving the 'missing heat' issue, and is a good illustration why arguments for somewhat lower climate sensitivity are fundamentally flawed if they fail to account for the warming of the oceans below 700 meters.
Most importantly, everybody (climate scientists and contrarians included) must learn to stop equating surface and shallow ocean warming with global warming. In fact, as Roger Pielke Sr. has pointed out, "ocean heat content change [is] the most appropriate metric to diagnose global warming." While he has focused on the shallow oceans, actually we need to measure global warming by accounting for all changes in global heat content, including the deeper oceans. Otherwise we can easily fool ourselves into underestimating the danger of the climate problem we face.

Braced for the coldest March on record

Photo: Geoffrey Slack As the weekend snowfall lay 25cm (10 inches) deep in some places in the Anglia region it won’t come as any great surprise that March has been cold - very cold. It now seems likely that daytime temperatures will be the lowest in March in East Anglia than at any time since Met Office records began more than a century ago.
Normally an average March day in the Anglia region would see a maximum temperature of 10.3°C - so far this March the average daytime high has been 6.0°C. Furthermore, with no significantly milder weather on the horizon for the rest of the month, it could drop even lower than that before all the final statistics are totted up.
That would put March 2013 into the record books for the lowest daytime temperatures since before 1910. It would beat the current chilly title-holder, March 1964, when the mean maximum temperature was 6.1°C.

Credit: Nigel Pepper Daytime temperatures in March 2013 have been running at more than 4°C below normal and while the nights have been cold too they’re no so far below average. The average night time minimum temperature in the Anglia region in March is 2.9°C. Currently that figure is running at 0.7°C - so still a good 2°C below normal.
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2013/03/3404.jpg Lowest daytime temperatures in March since records started in 1910 Credit: ITV Anglia / Met Office While during the day it may have been the chilliest ever recorded, once you add in the nights too March 2013 has a little way to go before breaking any records for the coldest March overall.
The mean monthly temperature is a calculated as the simple arithmetic average of the daytime highs and the daytime lows. Currently the mean temperature in the region is 3.4°C and there have several Marchs colder than that in 1970, 1962, 1955 and 1917. But with the cold weather set to continue, there’s still scope for that to change before the end of the month.

A normal March day would usually see 3¾ hours of sunshine whereas this year we’ve seen only a little over 2 hours per day. The regional rainfall total up to 24th was standing at 51mm (2 inches). In an average March we would expect to see 44mm of rain (1¾ inches).https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2013/03/3406.jpg March 2013 is one of the coldest ever in East Anglia. - Highest temperature so far in March 2013 in the Anglia region is 15.9°C at Santon Downham, Suffolk
- Lowest temperature so far in March 2013 in the Anglia region is -5.7°C at Santon Downham, Suffolk

^ what warming ? that graph looks flat to me !!
It's called global climate change. It's bigger than East Anglica and effects differet parts of the globe differently. Climate change...get it. Do some research if you want to understand the phenomon and the science behind it.
Of course it's climate change. When they messed up with the term global warming and the claims countries such as the UK will turn tropical, why wouldn't they change the term. Do you get it!
Are you one of those that believes electric cars are better for the planet but who does not realize how much is churned out from point A to B to feed that car? I bet you are!
The sooner folks like you understand that rhetoric and terms are changed to suit the agenda, the better for us all.
And I ask you. What do you do to save the planet? Are you another reusable bagger that thinks he's done his bit?
^ i used to watch the reusable bag brigade back in florida. Use their bags in the market and then stuff their bags into the back of their gas guzzling v8 suv. People are retarded.
Not that there's much point to talking to one as wise as you, JJ, but in case you hadn't noticed they did change the name from warming to climate, but I doubt it was because of some anonymous prediction of a tropical UK, if such a prediction was ever made.Quote:

We're talking bigger than electric cars and trash bags, JJ. Get with the program.
Amazing how the corporations are so cunning, they can take something like normal climate swings, and create an industry and make billions, claiming human iinduced, fooling even those who are otherwise intelligent.
Perfect example of the back-fitted bollocks.Quote:

Unprecedented over 50 whole years!!! By golly thats longer than I have been alive. It must be Global Warming if it's been going on that extrordinary length of time.
Quick buy a Prius before we all burn up and then drown! Global warming brought to you by the Toyota Motor Corporation.
I hope some of you live long enough to explain yourselves to your children :(
You lot said it's global warming - its a one way street to a really hot world ,Quote:

with an arrogant attitude like that - no surprise no one listens any more .
Good if it does heat up further south , the last thing we want is the north poles ice sucking it up towards us .Quote:

Agree it will be hard to explain , how you just sat back and lets the Earths population rise dangerously over the last 50 yearsQuote:

Almost all of the hottest 10 years on record came after 2000, actually. Global warming can produce snow in March in England, a low pressure system in the Atlantic sucks cold air in from the Arctic. And this low pressure system is stronger because the ocean is warmer. New York was hit by hurricanes in two years in a row now because the Gulf stream was by 3 degrees warmer than before. Where this cold air that hit England came from became probably warmer than normal.
The denialists are like a champagne supernova of stupidity.
Quim - I am not a denialist. I fully accept that the climate changes. I do not accept that the 7% of man made Co2 has little to do with it. I am sorry that you are your ilk are completely brain washed. I wonder what the correlation between Goreites and I-Phone usage is. Pretty high I guess in that that they go for style over reality.
So again, what is the suggestion. Cut all man made emissions for 23 years to reduce the temperature by 1 degree or what ever it is? And all this comes from oone of the faked computer models paid for by the governments and organisations rubbing their chops at the thought of all the tax dollars.
Its a scam. How dumb do you have to be to not realise it is a scam. The Climate changes. Your reaction to this is like believing a bloke standing by the sea shore who claims that twice a day he pushes the sea out and pulls it back in again and unless you give him cash he will stop. Natural phenomena which fools the gullible into opening their wallets. Who are not the fools? The businesses who are not asking the new manufacturing zones of the world to impose limits where they conveniently now manufacture.
Great quote somewhere about people not needing to be lied to because incredibility of the listener will always mean they will not accept the truth when spoken to them.
Its a con. Now relax a little and forget all about it.
And the preachers full of their 'pass the buck shit'
"Oooh, as long as I agree to global warming, but do nothing that's ok. It makes me better than someone who disbelieves in the end of the world scenario! Like, if i believe there's a god, but don't go to church, I'll be favored by JHC over those that don't believe he exists".
V8 comment aside, what's wrong with using reusable bags? Saves cutting down more trees to make throw away paper bags and reduces the number of plastic bags that go into the landfills. Win-win isn't it? :mid:
Or are you so far "out there" that you're going to argue that deforestation and bigger landfills are a good thing?!
What's up with the hard on so many Climate Change Denialists have with Al Gore? You call him a hypocrite and a windbag and some even go so far as to call him a criminal (?!) and say he's just trying to gain political power. But in your attempt to vilify this one man you lose sight of the fact that climate change is not Al Gore, and that they exist independently of one another.
Remember back when the tobacco industry told consumers that smoking was actually GOOD for you? Remember back when no one had a clue that prolonged exposure to the sun drastically increases your risk of skin cancer? Remember back when people thought the earth was the center of the universe and the planet was flat?
The funny thing is, even today there are some whack-job denialists who STILL insist that smoking is good for you... These are probably the same nut-jobs who think we never landed on the moon, the earth is flat, Darwin was wrong, and men cavorted with Tyrannosaurus Rex 6,000 years ago. :smileylaughing:
Back then, as today, denialists stuck their head in the sand and refused to accept the overwhelming scientific evidence that smoking causes health problems such as heart disease, and prolonged exposure to ultraviolet sun rays leads to skin cancer and that gee, the earth is in fact round. These are the same types who today obstinately refuse to accept that human-driven climate change is real.
Denialists will continue to pontificate and scream their naive and misinformed objections to reality, but rational informed citizens will continue to dismiss them as just another part of the lunatic fringe.
The world moves on, with or without us.
^
true that , though given a choice I think I'd prefer the with option .............
^
I hope so too. But...
There was a day when I had faith in the good sense of leaders at the levers of power. I believed that at least they knew something that we didn't. Some intelligence. Some secret information. But a few wars later all that turned out to be bullshit and I lost my virginity too.
This time the secret is out in the open: the scientific community that has traditionally supplied information to the lever pullers is saying "fix it fast, or everything is going to change quickly." But the lever pullers are unable to get past the corruption that has petrified any real movement to reverse climate change, while the Corporations wreak profits and remain happily homeless, with little responsibility of citizenship. As long as the marketplace de jour is somewhere on the globe.
I used to think that self preservation was always the last to go, as it were. The last wall do defend. Now I wonder. But I hope.
People seem to expect the planet to heat up uniformly, like a pot of coffee.
I wish it were called polar warming, because that is what is happening- and once the methane starts , well already has.. being released from the polar caps, it's a run away train.
I'm rather glad tonot be any younger, I think the lifestlye of humans in 30 year is going to be downgraded to horrible. We are the last generation to enjoy irresponsible luxury.
Nothing at all wrong with the reusable bags I think their great it's the 'tards that think just using them is enough to save the Planet. The Planet is fucked or at least We and most of the Animal and plant life that We destroyed with our greed is fucked.
The question is "Is global warming man made or natural?" I can see the weather patterns changing as I believe most people can. I also can see how bad Human's have fucked up most of the Planet, but is it causing Global Warming? That I don't know and I don't think anybody else really does either. As Jesse Ventura is fond of saying on His stupid TV show "Follow the money". Do that and you might get some real answers.
But yeah the bags are great!
Is there still snow in England? Thailand is heating up to compensate. Bangkok reported 40.1 degrees last Tuesday, that's a new record high for March and only 0.7 degrees below the all-time high. Pattaya is over 34 degrees now every day, and I'm in aircon arrest. I hate this unrelenting sun and heat, not a cloud in the sky for weeks.
I was speculating on what caused the snow in the UK, turns out there actually is a vast storm in the North Atlantic.
