Glad to see that the UK royalty are keeping their hand in when it comes down to killing animals and people, I feel sure Harry has bagged a few of those nasty evil people that are still hiding weapons of mass destruction, Maybe Harry could do an elephant safari next and bag a few of them to put their heads up on the walls of Buckingham Palace.

Well since I'm accused of being so unclear myself on rare occasions. Let me just try my hand a little translation here if I may, and Tex feel free to gently redirect my perception..

I think that what Tex is saying is that Harry never really had any direct combat involvement in the physical sense but that he called in a few fire missions that took out an as yet undetermined amount of enemy combatants..

Which still remains to be questionable..
And as such he is just as guilty as we (the US) have been accused by various posters on here for not actually taking on those combatants directly but utilizing the tools supplied to his advantage and keeping himself alive to go home in his case and in the case of his fellow troops to fight another day..

With that he will return with a decorated status as 'War Hero' and triumphant combatant and raised up for all of the world (especially the British) to pay homage to..

How'd I do there Tex?? I gotta tell you, I think I hurt myself doing that, I hope it's right??
    Silent but deadly.....

I must admit I'm guilty of posting with the assumption others know at least as much as I. Sadly, I'm often mistaken.

Not a bad effort DTW, but perhaps 50% too many words.

Seems it's envouge to criticize the US when they act. Others garner praise for similar atrocities. I'm so confused.

Serious question: Do the Brits here even know what role their country is playing in the war on terror, or are they all too wrapped up in what the US is doing?

utilizing the tools supplied to his advantage and keeping himself alive to go home in his case and in the case of his fellow troops to fight another day
That's a given. It's what maintains the US as the premire and sole military superpower on the planet.

Am I allowed to say that?
    Doncha just hate it?

But you tried that tactic already and it didn't work there Mr. Rumsfeld, so I decided to change tactics for more detail..

Nah.....That term is outdated for over 200 years now...It only applied to our own fight for independance...

Harry is caught in the classic '2nd son' scenario. Not the direct heir, so, have to make a living.
The armed forces have been a traditional career for Royal second sons.
Andrew went to the Falklands and there was no news black-out.
    What has changed?

    Back to Blighty for Prince

PRINCE Harry is about to head home to Britain after news of his deployment spread after being published on a US political website.

Britain's Chief of the Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Jock Stirrup, last night confirmed the army was pulling Harry out of Afghanistan.

TV interviews with the Prince were broadcast yesterday after the Drudge Report website broke the story - six weeks after a report on New Idea magazine's website went unnoticed. In Sydney, New Idea denied knowingly breaking the embargo. Australian media outlets were not asked to suppress the story, the British high commission said yesterday.

The Sun newspaper reported that army generals met on Thursday night to decide whether to rush the 23-year-old Household Cavalry officer home five weeks ahead of schedule because of the danger the media reports could put him and his fellow soldiers in.

Interesting that the Drudge report is being blamed for the Leak, whereas the same thing was published in New Idea's website six weeks before and went unnoticed.

    What does that say?
No one reads New Idea, or Aussies don't read? Or both. New Idea is basically a competitor of Womens Weekly- hardly the sort of mag you would expect to read this sort of expose'.

Prince Harry leaves Afghanistan after cover blown

Prince Harry flew out of Afghanistan after news of his 10-week deployment was leaked by foreign media, British news outlets reported on Friday.

Britain's Press Association said that the 23-year-old royal was on a flight back to Britain, citing unnamed sources, while Sky News television and the BBC reported the same story, without citing their sources.

But he said he enjoyed being away from the glare of media publicity he faces at home, adding: "I think this is about as normal as I'm ever going to get."

Queen Elizabeth II praised her grandson, saying he had done "a good job in a very difficult climate", while British Prime Minister Gordon Brown described him as an "exemplary soldier (who) is serving with dedication in the finest tradition of our armed forces."

Afghan Foreign Minister Rangeen Dadfar Spanta expressed his country's gratitude, saying the prince's tour of duty was "a good sign of the solidarity from the (British) royal family".

The prince's commanding officer in Afghanistan, Brigadier Andrew Mackay, said he had "shared the same risks (and) endured the same austerity" as his colleagues and had "acquitted himself with distinction".
