    PC - gone too far!?

seems a bit of an OTT reaction to me...

    Parliament guard 'groped, kissed' schoolgirl

    Article from: AAP
    November 25, 2007 01:52pm

A SECURITY guard at NSW Parliament House is being investigated for allegedly groping and kissing a 14-year-old schoolgirl visiting on a tour.
An external investigation is taking place into the actions of the guard, who is alleged to have grabbed the girl's hand, and repeatedly kissed her on the arm, while on a school tour of parliament.

The girl immediately complained to an adult, who then reported it to parliamentary staff, Fairfax newspapers reported.

NSW Premier Morris Iemma today labelled such conduct "totally unacceptable".

"If that is an incident that has occurred then it is an incident that ought to be investigated and the full weight of the law and employment rules will apply," he said.

"If any of the laws of the state have been broken, then this person will be held to account."

The security guard has been put on restricted duties while the investigation is underway.

A report on the incident will be handed to Legislative Assembly clerk Russell Groves on December 17.

An attention grabbing headline, but nevertheless totally innapropriate behaviour if true.

guess that's why it's being investigated.
very unbecoming for a security guard.

Probably got a tight short skirt , blouse undone one button too many high heals and all the make up . In which case perfectly normal behaviour for any red blooded young man .

It's difficult to know exactly what was done from that report, but on the face of it, I'd say it was inappropriate for an adult to do that to a child - assuming that they were strangers (if they knew each other, he could have meant it as a joke)

the guy allegedly put his hands on a 14 year old girl who was on a school trip. IMO he certainly should be placed on restrictive duty while an investigation is underway.

the OP states that this is OTT....does the OP condone this sort of behavior by security guards in govt. buildings and 14 year old school girls?

and what does any of this have to do with "PC"? i would think that this type of behavior would have warranted the same response 50 years ago.

I must admit that I'm surprised KW thinks this is PC gone too far. The guard is accused of inappropriate behaviour and is moved out of harms way until the investigation is complete.

    What's PC about that?

^I agree. This would have been inappropriate if they had been in a social situation, but on a school trip in a government office?

Can you imagine how embarrassed a fourteen year old on a school trip would feel?

There is no place or time that an adult man kissing a fourteen year old (and without permission) would be acceptable.

I am surprised that you think that this is pc gone mad, willy.

ok ok, its not something i would do, i just thought it sounded like stupid skylarking sort of stuff rather than anything more sinister. and certainly the title use of the word grope - means something different to me.

looks like popular opinion disagrees with mine, and i can see why. case closed i guess.

I would never touch or kiss a child not belonging to our family, the only time I would touch a child is to save them from danger. maybe he was a touchey feeley type that make you feel embarrased to watch his antics.

She was on a school trip. Australian school children wear uniforms.

And kissing a fourteen year old is not normal behaviour for a grown man.
